A method for determining the temporal position of an acoustic pulse on the basis of an envelope that is plotted through the points of a received signal that is processed by a peak detector was proposed to provide a reduction of the error in determining the propagation time of a signal in the acoustic channel of a measuring instrument.

The use of geometrical acoustics for the solution of visualization problems

K. G. Kvasnikov; A. I. Soldatov; I. O. Bolotina; Kh. M. Krening; A. A. Potapenko

Recently, antenna arrays with computer processing of acoustic signals with subsequent visualization of a test zone have been widely used in the control of ultrasound waves. The authors present the results of studies on the determination of the trajectory of ultrasound from a piezoelectric transducer to the chosen point of a test zone using analytical and numerical methods of calculation, both for linear and matrix antenna arrays. Based on the obtained equations, the results of the reconstruction of the test zone, comparison of productivity, and recommendations on their use are given.

A. I. Soldatov; A. I. Seleznev; A. A. Soldatov; I. I. Fiks; X. M. Kroening

The echography method of in-tube sealing units with an active response, which involves sending a probing signal from the outer side wall of a pipeline, the reception of this signal by an in-tube sealing unit, the sending of a response signal, and its reception by a probe that is placed outside the pipeline, is considered. The results from theoretical and experimental studies are presented.

Simulation of acoustic signals in a waveguide of circular cross section

Y.V. Shulgina; A.L. Starostin; M.A. Kostina; T.S. Mylnikova; A. I. Soldatov

The paper describes a mathematical simulation of the acoustic signals. The propagation of signals in waveguides of circular section is simulated. For the analysis a linear model of ultrasound propagation is used. The purpose of mathematical modeling is accuracy increasing of distance measurement by acoustic methods.

System for automatic sorting of pallets

A. I. Soldatov; A. A. Soldatov; P. V. Sorokin; E. L. Loginov; M. A. Kostina; Olesya A. Kozhemyak; S. I. Bortalevich

The paper presents the unique system for automatic sorting of pallets. System has tree units: sensor unit, electronic unit and PC. System can detect defect, slope of pallet surface or foreign object on the pallet surface. The description of the user interface and the testing results of the pallet are presented. The calculated values are compared with a normalized value and if a deviation is beyond the tolerance, the pallet is rejected. The software allows you to display results in the form of 3D images of the surface of the pallet for visual observation by the operator on the display.

Experimental Studies of Thermoelectric Characteristics of Plastically Deformed Steels ST3, 08KP and 12H18N10T

A. I. Soldatov; A.A. Soldatov; Kostina; O.A. Kozhemyak

The article presents the results of experimental studies of the thermoelectric characteristics of plastically deformed steels ST3, 08KP, 12H18N10T. Measurements in the area of maximum deformation of the samples were carried out. Differences in the thermoelectric characteristics of plastically deformed steels were revealed. Steel 12H18N10T has linear characteristic, and characteristics of steels ST3 and 08KP have extreme. Constant temperature between the hot and cold electrodes needs to be maintained and also the temperature of the test specimens needs to be monitored, which in the differential testing method equals to cold electrodes. Novel block diagram of a device for testing of thermos electromotive force and monitoring of the cold electrodes temperature is proposed.

Simulation of Surface Oscillation of Ultrasound Sensor Based on Piezoelectric Semiconductor Transducer

A. I. Soldatov; A. A. Soldatov; M A Kostina; V F Tolkatchev

In the article theoretical and experimental studies of the surface deformation of piezoelectric sensors are carried out. Round membrane was used as a model of piezoelectric sensors. Experimental studies were conducted on mass-produced sensors and self-made sensor. Good match fluctuations in membrane model with fixed edges real sensors is shown.

An experimental setup for studying electric characteristics of thermocouples

A. I. Soldatov; A. A. Soldatov; P. V. Sorokin; A. A. Abouellail; I. I. Obach; V. Y. Bortalevich; Yuriy A. Shinyakov; Maxim P. Sukhorukov

This paper presents a computer-controlled experimental setup to study electric characteristics of thermocouples, aiming for a better thermoelectric nondestructive testing qualities. To study thermoelectric characteristics of thermocouples, experimentation should be conducted for determining possible dependencies such as temperature and load resistance. Each experimental measurement should be taken with a different value of load resistance and each carried out at various temperatures over a wide range. Load resistors are integrated in a toggle switch panel, to ensure the accuracy and ease of use. Temperatures have been successfully held stable with the help of a heat chamber and its designed control system. Such an experimental setup is capable of accurately gathering measurement data, which can effectively benefit research in investigating thermoelectric materials of different characteristics.
