A method for determining the temporal position of an acoustic pulse on the basis of an envelope that is plotted through the points of a received signal that is processed by a peak detector was proposed to provide a reduction of the error in determining the propagation time of a signal in the acoustic channel of a measuring instrument.

The paper presents a method of dynamic imaging is used to study the propagation and interaction of waves in the dynamics. Provides a block diagram of the apparatus for implementing such a method of research, as well as the results of some experiments that show the possibilities of the proposed method and its distinctive advantages over other methods. Our studies clearly demonstrate that the method of dynamic visualization of the wave field provides new information that is often lost in other methods of data processing. The method complements existing methods for processing and visualization, allowing to evaluate the data sets in their entirety, and to build a dynamic picture of the wave field.

The paper studied the effect of the error on the form of echo location calculation reflector. Various options for reducing the duration of the echo and received at the same artifacts, which is caused by the inability to determine the temporal position of the start of the echo. To reduce the error to use the autocorrelation function offers instead echo, and its autocorrelation function in the reconstruction of a tomographic image.

The paper presents the unique system for automatic sorting of pallets. System has tree units: sensor unit, electronic unit and PC. System can detect defect, slope of pallet surface or foreign object on the pallet surface. The description of the user interface and the testing results of the pallet are presented. The calculated values are compared with a normalized value and if a deviation is beyond the tolerance, the pallet is rejected. The software allows you to display results in the form of 3D images of the surface of the pallet for visual observation by the operator on the display.

This paper presents a computer-controlled experimental setup to study electric characteristics of thermocouples, aiming for a better thermoelectric nondestructive testing qualities. To study thermoelectric characteristics of thermocouples, experimentation should be conducted for determining possible dependencies such as temperature and load resistance. Each experimental measurement should be taken with a different value of load resistance and each carried out at various temperatures over a wide range. Load resistors are integrated in a toggle switch panel, to ensure the accuracy and ease of use. Temperatures have been successfully held stable with the help of a heat chamber and its designed control system. Such an experimental setup is capable of accurately gathering measurement data, which can effectively benefit research in investigating thermoelectric materials of different characteristics.

The article describes the original algorithm for control the process of measuring thermo electromotive force. Proposed algorithm allows minimizing the effect of destabilizing factors at the manual testing of metals and alloys. It was proposed to take measurements at a time point when the supply voltage is zero, as well during the pause of PWM voltage of heating and at zero value of contact resistance between the electrodes and testing sample. The control algorithm provides sampling only valid data based on the above criteria, as well, data averaging and indication.

The article presents a hardware and software complex for the automated measurement of the pallet dimensions and defining of foreign bodies on the pallet surface. The block diagram of the system and the software are described. Methods to improve the accuracy of measurement of the geometric dimensions of the pallet are briefly described: temperature correction of the velocity of propagation of ultrasonic oscillations and the calculation of echo pulse envelope to determine its coordinates of time-position. The algorithm of processing the primary data to improve the reliability of inspection results on the basis of the calculation of the additional, so-called virtual lines, in the pallet surface is presented.

The article describes the ultrasonic level gauge of light oil. The principle of error compensation caused by instability of propagation conditions due to the presence of a temperature gradient and density along the propagation path of an ultrasonic wave is presented. The acoustic path of the level gauge is described and includes three channels: a measuring channel, a reference channel and a channel for measuring the bottom water level. The use of data from the reference channel made it possible to obtain high metrological characteristics over a wide range of temperatures and to exclude dependence on changes in the density of light oil products.
