Abstract Isosakuranetin and a new chalcone, odoratin, have been isolated from the leaves of Eupatorium odoratum . The structure of odoratin has been shown to be 2′-hydroxy-4,4′,5′,6′-tetramethoxy chalcone.

Abstract A new carbazole alkaloid designated as clausenalene was isolated from the stem bark of Clausena heptaphylla and its structure established as 3-methyl-6,7-methylenedioxy carbazole from physical, chemical evidence and synthesis. This is the first report of a methylenedioxy carbazole alkaloid from a plant source.

Abstract Cymbinodin-A has been isolated from the orchid Cymbidium aloifolium and its structure has been established as 5-hydroxy-3-methoxy-1,4-phenanthraquinone. Friedelin and sitosterol have also been found in the plant.
