High-power Ka-band gyroklystron oscillator with time-delayed feedback

A novel high-power oscillator based on the gyroklystron amplifier with external delayed feedback is designed and tested. The oscillator produces 1-1.5 MW peak power with nearly 1 μs pulse duration in Ka-band.

Frequency multiplication in relativistic gyro-klystron operating with combination of TE-TM modes

The possibility of effective frequency multiplication in a relativistic gyro-klystron is discussed. The proposed scheme key feature is that while the input cavity modulates the electron beam at fundamental harmonic the excitation of the output cavity can be easily switched by simple change of electron beam parameters between fundamental harmonic and third harmonic. First experimental results confirm the idea.
