Inclusive b and bproduction with quasi-multi-Regge kinematics at the Tevatron

Bernd A. Kniehl; V. A. Saleev; A. V. Shipilova

We consider b-jet hadroproduction in the quasi-multi-Regge-kinematics approach based on the hypothesis of gluon and quark Reggeization in t-channel exchanges at high energies. The preliminary data on inclusive b-jet and b ¯-dijet production taken by the CDF Collaboration at the Fermilab Tevatron are well described without adjusting parameters. We find the main contribution to inclusive b-jet production to be the scattering of a Reggeized gluon and a Reggeized b-quark to a b quark, which is described by the effective Reggeon-Reggeon-quark vertex. The main contribu

New mechanisms for double charmed meson production at the LHCb

Rafal Maciula; V. A. Saleev; A. V. Shipilova; Antoni Szczurek

Abstract We discuss production of D 0 D 0 (and D ¯ 0 D ¯ 0 ) pairs related to the LHCb Collaboration results for s = 7 TeV in proton–proton scattering. We consider double-parton scattering (DPS) mechanisms of double c c ¯ production and subsequent c c → D 0 D 0 hadronization as well as double g and mixed g c c ¯ production with g g → D 0 D 0 and g c → D 0 D 0 hadronization calculated with the help of the scale-dependent hadronization functions of Kniehl et al. Single-parton scattering (SPS) mechanism of digluon production is also taken into account. We compare our results with several correlation observables in azimuthal angle φ D 0 D 0 between D 0 mesons or in dimeson invariant mass M D 0 D 0 . The inclusion of new mechanisms with g → D 0 fragmentation leads to larger cross sections, than when including only DPS mechanism c c → D 0 D 0 with standard scale-independent fragmentation functions. Some consequences of the presence of the new mechanisms are discussed. In particular a larger σ e f f is needed to describe the LHCb data. There is a signature that σ e f f may depend on transverse momentum of c quarks and/or c ¯ antiquarks.

DbarD and DD pair production at the LHCb in the parton Reggeization approach

Anton Karpishkov; Maxim Nefedov; V. A. Saleev; A. V. Shipilova

We study J/{psi} photoproduction via the fusion and fragmentation mechanisms at the HERA Collider within the frameworks of the collinear parton model and the quasi-multi-Regge kinematics approach using the factorization formalism of nonrelativistic QCD at leading order in the strong coupling constant {alpha}{sub s} and the relative velocity v of the bound quarks. It is shown that the fusion production mechanism dominates over the fragmentation production mechanism at the all relevant J/{psi} transverse momenta. The J/{psi} meson p{sub T} spectra in the fragmentation and fusion production at the asymptotilally large p{sub T} have equal slopes in the quasi-multi-Regge kinematics approach, opposite the collinear parton model.

New single- and double-parton scattering mechanisms for double charmed meson production

Antoni Szczurek; Rafal Maciula; V. A. Saleev; A. V. Shipilova

This article continues our recent publication [I.A. Baburin and D.M. Proserpio and V.A. Saleev and A.V. Shipilova, Phys. Chem. Chem. Phys.17, 1332 (2015)] where we have presented a comprehensive computational study of sp3 carbon allotropes based on the topologies proposed for zeolites. Here we predict six new silicon and six new germanium allotropes which have the same space group symmetries and topologies as those predicted earlier for the carbon allotropes, and study their structural, elastic, vibrational, electronic and optical properties.

B-meson production at Tevatron and the LHC in the Regge limit of quantum chromodynamics

A. V. Karpishkov; M. A. Nefedov; V. A. Saleev; A. V. Shipilova

We perform first-principles calculations of optical properties for ferroelectric phase of LiNbO3 crystal using density functional theory (DFT) for wide range of wavelengths, from far-infrared (IR) to ultraviolet. We study frequency dependence of complex dielectric tensor and related quantities, such as refractive and reflection indices, absorption coefficients, etc. Our calculation incorporates advantages of numerical approaches based on atomic-orbital all-electron Gaussian-type basis sets, as it is realized in CRYSTAL14 program. We compared predictions obtained in general-gradient approach with PBESOL exchange-correlation functional and in hybrid approach with PBESOL0 functional, and we have found that hybrid PBESOL0 functional is more applicable to describe the wide set of the experimental data.
