Abstract We have measured the differential cross section for p- 4 He elastic scattering at proton kinetic energies of 0.56, 0.80, 1.03, 1.27 and 1.73 GeV in a range of four-momentum transfer squared between 0.006 and 1.2 (GeV/ c ) 2 . The cross section has the usual diffraction minimum which decreases in depth with increasing energy. This data is consistent with contemporaneous data from Berkeley, but disagrees, particularly in the normalization, with earlier data from Brookhaven and Saclay.

Abstract Differential cross sections and analyzing powers for elastic scattering of 800 MeV polarized protons from 46,48Ti have been measured at laboratory angles ranging between 4° and 21°. The data are analyzed within the spin-dependent KMT formalism. Neutron density distributions are extracted and compared with the results of other experiments and with theoretical predictions. Disagreements between empirical results and DME calculations are found.

Abstract The differential cross section for elastic pp scattering has been measured at 800 MeV, for laboratory angles ranging between 1.2° and 4.3° (lab). The ratio ϱ of the real to imaginary parts of the forward spin-independent scattering amplitude and the combined magnitudes of the forward double spin-flip amplitudes have been extracted from the data and are compared with the results of recent forward dispersion relation calculations and phase shift analyses.

Asymmetries for elastic scattering of transversely polarised 800 MeV protons from Hydrogen in the coulomb interference region are presented and compared with the predictions of a recent phase shift analysis.

The symmetry in the elastic scattering of polarized protons from helium has been measured at beam momenta of 1.2, 1.5 and 2.0 GeV/c and in the interval of three‐momentum transfer, q, region between 0.3 and 5.5 fm−1 (step size ∠0.1 fm−1). The beam polarization was approximately 70% and the beam intensity varied between 0.4–1.5 ×109 particles/burst. The polarization is found to depend sensitively on the beam momentum near q=2.2 fm−1, which is the region where single and double scattering display interference effects in elastic scattering. In the q region where triple scattering begins to be predominant, the polarization displays a change in slope.
