Evaluating the implementation techniques of web service and analysing their performance in load balancing cluster-based and non-cluster-based web server is necessary from the perspective of web service developer, researchers as well as users. As such the authors propose to develop and implement a SOAP based hierarchical web service using load balancing cluster-based and non-cluster based Apache Tomcat web server to study the web service performance metrics. The performance of overall system is tested using the load testing tool Mercury Load runner and a comparative investigation is carried out using the stability, load and performance metrics of both services. In this paper, the authors present, in detail, the methodology of experiment, comparative testing results, and statistical analysis on performance metrics.

Quality of service is the key indicator for service oriented architectures, because it directly expresses the operability and computational nature of the system. As such, we propose a quality evaluation framework for multi service multi functional hierarchical SOAP based web service. The overall interoperable quality is evaluated through load testing using Mercury Load Runner with Apache Tomcat web server and MySQL database engine. The recorded quality metrics are analyzed statistically. We present here in detail the architecture, observed metrics and analyzed results of the service oriented computing to validate the acceptability of the evaluation framework.

The web services have emerged as a web based matured and popular technology paradigm. Due to increasing popularity, the reliability assurance and prediction have acquired more attentions to the developers, researchers and service providers. In this paper, the authors propose to design, develop and implement a service oriented prototype research electronic automated teller machine service using Windows Communication Foundation technology to study and predict some reliability aspects of web services. One master service is designed to authenticate a particular user to access services that is acting as a service broker and redirects the query to content service executing agents, acting as a service provider. The system has been implemented using C# programming language, Visual Studio.NET framework, Internet Information Service web server and Microsoft Structured Query Language database server. The authors present here the novel prototype architecture, testing procedures, HTTP transactional status and reliability analysis of the system under massive stress of consumers.

The authors proposed to design and implement a prototype research electronic automated teller machine service using Windows Communication Foundation to study the performance and scalability of implementing Web Service Security policy. The software chosen for building the service are C# programming language, Internet Information Service web server, Microsoft Structured Query Language database server and Visual Studio.NET Integrated Design Environment as development toolkits. To evaluate the different performance metrics, the Windows Communication Foundation Service has been tested by using testing tool Mercury LoadRunner, version 8.1. In this paper, the authors will present the architecture of the service, its testing procedures, and statistical analysis of the system performance.

Investigations on failure and reliability metrics for the deployment of service-oriented computing based system and executing such system against massive users over web are an important concern from the perspective of service availability. As such, we propose to deploy one multi service based web service in Tomcat web server along with Java API for XML web service and the other in Internet Information Service web server along with Microsoft web service communication foundation technology. The services are executed against massive requests through load generating tool Mercury LoadRunner. The HTTP transaction fault counts are recorded and evaluated to study the reliability of the services. This paper presents in details the time complexity of the algorithm, recorded system metrics, and the statistical analysis for quantifying the service execution. The overall assessment concludes different trade-offs associated for the deployment of such service. The results highlight different dynamic nature of the system for service execution against massive request.
