Spectrum channel is a limited resource in mobile wireless communication. In dramatic evolvement of communication, a resource sharing scenario of heterogeneous network is a challenging. The D2D system with synchronous transmission requires a medium access control (MAC) protocol, which provides sharing resource and maintains the protection level of the existed M2M system with asynchronous transmission in the unlicensed channel. An analytical model based on the MAC protocol is exposed in order to explore the throughput performance of D2D and M2M in sharing the unlicensed resource. The throughput performance in terms of various sensing time configurations, and contention value for D2D and M2M backoff mechanism are also investigated.
