A simple synthesis of 2-substituted oxazolines and oxazines

Agnieszka Cwik; Zoltán Hell; Adrienn Hegedüs; Zoltán Finta; Zoltán Horváth

Abstract β-Aminoalcohols react with carboxylic acids in the presence of a zeolite, Ersorb-4, resulting in the formation of oxazoline derivatives in good yields. Similarly, 3-aminopropanol and benzoic acid gave the corresponding 2-phenyloxazine.

Green Chemistry | 2002

Microwave-assisted conversion of oximes into nitriles in the presence of a zeolite

Adrienn Hegedüs; Agnieszka Cwik; Zoltán Hell; Zoltán Horváth; Ágota Esek; Mária Uzsoki

Aromatic aldoximes were converted to the corresponding nitriles in a microwave oven in the presence of a molecular sieve-type modified zeolite, Ersorb, under solvent-free conditions. The yields depended on the substituent of the oxime.

Mg-Al 3:1 hydrotalcite catalyst in the synthesis of cyclopropane carboxylic acid derivatives

Zoltán Finta; Zoltán Hell; Daniella Balán; Agnieszka Cwik; Sándor Kemény; F. Figueras

Abstract The non-activated Mg-Al 3:1 hydrotalcite is a suitable basic catalyst both in the intramolecular cyclization reaction of malonic acid allylic esters into bicyclic cyclopropane carboxylic acid lactones and the intermolecular cyclization reaction of dibromoethane and diethyl malonate into cyclopropane dicarboxylic acid diester. The optimal reaction conditions of the intramolecular cyclization were determined using a 2 4 factorial design. An interesting effect on the diastereoselectivity of the intramolecular cyclization was observed compared with the diastereoselectivity of this cyclization using solid potassium carbonate as base.

A new and convenient method for the acylation of amino acids in the presence of a modified zeolite: Ersorb®

Zoltán Hell; Agnieszka Cwik; Zoltán Finta; Zoltán Horváth

Reaction of free amino acids with acid chlorides in dioxane in the presence of a modified zeolite-type mineral Ersorb-4 results in the formation of the appropriate N-acyl derivatives. High yields were obtained with aryl chlorides, poorer with aliphatic ones.

Catalytic Transfer Hydrogenation and Hydrogenolysis in Ionic Liquids with Pd/MgLa Mixed Oxide and Pd/MgAl Hydrotalcite as Recyclable Catalysts

Zoltan Baan; Attila Potor; Agnieszka Cwik; Zoltán Hell; Gyoergy Keglevich; Zoltán Finta; Istvan Hermecz

Abstract A new Pd/MgLa mixed oxide and the known Pd/MgAl hydrotalcite catalysts were applied and recycled successfully in catalytic transfer hydrogenation reactions in ionic liquids. Some α,β‐unsaturated carboxylic acid derivatives were hydrogenated in excellent yields. The catalysts were recycled without significant loss of activity. Besides that, a number of halogenated aromatic compounds were dehalogenated under similar catalytic transfer conditions.

A simple synthesis of 1,1,2-tris-(hydroxymethyl)-cyclopropane and its dihalo derivatives

Zoltán Finta; Zoltán Hell; Agnieszka Cwik; László Töke

The phase transfer catalytic cyclopropanation of the malonic ester of allylic alcohol or its 3,3-dibromo and 3,3-dichloro derivatives yields bicyclic cyclopropane carboxylic acid lactones; reduction of these lactones with LiAlH4 in boiling THF yields the appropriate 1,1,2-tris-(hydroxymethyl)cyclopropanes in satisfactory yield.

Tetrahedron Letters | 2006

A copper-free Sonogashira reaction using a Pd/MgLa mixed oxide

Agnieszka Cwik; Zoltán Hell; F. Figueras

Palladium/Magnesium‐Lanthanum Mixed Oxide Catalyst in the Heck Reaction

Agnieszka Cwik; Zoltán Hell; F. Figueras

Tetrahedron | 2005

Nitroaldol-reaction of aldehydes in the presence of non-activated Mg:Al 2:1 hydrotalcite; a possible new mechanism for the formation of 2-aryl-1,3-dinitropropanes

Agnieszka Cwik; Aliz Fuchs; Zoltán Hell; Jean Marc Clacens

Organic and Biomolecular Chemistry | 2005
