Effects of nonlocality in time of interactions of an atom with its surroundings on the broadening of spectral lines of atoms

Renat Kh. Gainutdinov; Aigul A. Mutygullina; W. Scheid

We investigate effects of nonlocality in time of the interaction of an atom with its surroundings on the spectral line broadening. We show that these effects can be very significant: in some cases nonlocality in time of this interaction can give rise to a spectral line splitting.

Nonlocality of theNNinteraction in an effective field theory

Renat Kh. Gainutdinov; Aigul A. Mutygullina

We investigate low energy nucleon dynamics in the effective field theory (EFT) of nuclear forces. In leading order of the two-nucleon EFT we show that nucleon dynamics is governed by the generalized dynamical equation with a nonlocal-in-time interaction operator. This equation is shown to open new possibilities for applying the EFT approach to the description of low energy nucleon dynamics.

Generalized quantum dynamics and the broadening of spectral lines of atoms

Renat Kh. Gainutdinov; Aigul A. Mutygullina; W. Scheid

We investigate the effects of nonlocality in time of interaction on the dynamics of open quantum systems. We show that the generalized quantum dynamics allows one to take into account nonlocality in time of the interaction of an atom with its surroundings in describing spectral line broadening.

Effects of nonlocality in time of interaction of an atom with its surroundings on spectral line broadening

Renat Kh. Gainutdinov; Aigul A. Mutygullina; W. Scheid

We investigate effects of nonlocality in time of interaction of an atom with its surroundings on the spectral line broadening. By using an exactly solvable model, we show that these effects can be very significant: In some cases nonlocality in time of interaction of an atom with its surroundings can give rise to the spectral line splitting.

Interaction of an atom subject to an intense laser field with its own radiation field and nonlocality of electromagnetic interaction

R Kh Gainutdinov; Aigul A. Mutygullina

We discuss the interaction of an atom subject to an intense driving laser field with its own radiation field. In contrast to the states of bare atoms, the energy difference between some dressed states with the same total angular momentum, its projection and parity may be very small. The self-interaction of a combined atom–laser system associated with nonradiative transitions between such states is effectively strong. We show that the contribution to the radiative shift of the sidebands of the Mollow spectrum, which comes from such processes, is very significant and may be much larger than the trivial Lamb shift, which is the simple redistribution of the Lamb shifts of the corresponding bare states. In the final part, we discuss the possibility that in the Mollow spectrum nonlocality of electromagnetic interaction, which in other cases is hidden in the regularization and renormalization procedures, can manifest itself explicitly.

The generalized dynamical equation and the vacuum polarization effect in hydrogenlike atoms

A. A. Vasil’ev; R. Kh. Gainutdinov; Aigul A. Mutygullina

Based on the generalized dynamical equation, vacuum polarization effects are studied within the scope of the bound state theory in quantum electrodynamics. We find a vacuum-polarization correction to the Lamb shift for the 1S state of the hydrogen atom on the order of (α/π)2(Zα)4 that is not considered in the standard theory of bound states in quantum electrodynamics.

The bound states problem in quantum electrodynamics and vacuum polarization effects in muonic atoms

A. A. Vasil’ev; R. Kh. Gainutdinov; Aigul A. Mutygullina; M Kh Salakhov

Quantum electrodynamic bound states in strong electromagnetic fields are considered. It is shown that the dynamics of the system can not be described completely in the adiabatic S-matrix approach. Vacuum polarization effects in muonic atoms are studied using the paradigm of generalized quantum dynamics. This approach leads to additional correction terms.

Lamb shift in atoms interacting with a strong laser field

R. Kh. Gainutdinov; Aigul A. Mutygullina

Radiative corrections to the energy levels of an atom interacting with a strong laser field have been investigated. A formula for the Lamb shift of the laser-dressed states is derived, which makes it possible to calculate this shift with an error up to α2.

Generalized quantum dynamics and interaction of atoms with quantum fields

Renat Kh. Gainutdinov; Aigul A. Mutygullina

We investigate the effects of the nonlocality in time of the effective interaction of atoms with quantum fields, arising after integrating out certain degrees of freedom. We show that these effects can be described, in a natural way, within the formalism of the generalized quantum dynamics developed in [J. Phys. A 32, 5657 (1999)]. The new possibilities that the generalized quantum dynamics opens for solving the problem are demonstrated by using the example of a muonic atom interacting with the electronic vacuum.

Description of the polarization effects in the muonic atoms within the framework of generalized quantum dynamics

Renat Kh. Gainutdinov; Alexey S. Iyudin; Aigul A. Mutygullina

The vacuum polarization effects in the muonic atoms are investigated within the framework of the generalized quantum dynamics. We show that the effect of nonlocality in time of the interaction of a muon with a nuclei caused by the polarization on the properties of the muonic atoms can be very significant. New possibilities that the generalized quantum dynamics opens in the theory of the muonic atoms are discussed.
