Análisis retrospectivo de los registros clínicos del Centro de Veterinaria y Zootecnia de la Universidad CES 2004-2009

El estudio presenta una descripcion de la frecuencia de la casuistica del Centro de Veterinaria y Zootecnia de la Universidad CES, con el fin de caracterizar algunas variables asociadas al comportamiento epidemiologico de las enfermedades en los pacientes que asisten a dicha sede. Se compararon las diferencias entre especies y otras variables intrinsecas y extrinsecas, de acuerdo al tiempo y la procedencia de los animales. Para la investigacion se analizaron 5910 datos, recolectados entre el 1 de junio de 2004 y el 31 de mayo de 2009. Durante cada uno de los 5 anos de estudio, siempre hubo un marcado predominio de consulta de la especie canina; Los pacientes provienen en su gran mayoria de los municipios de Medellin, (41,90%) y Envigado (38,07%). El 97% de los pacientes provenientes de otros departamentos diferentes a Antioquia son de la especie equina y el 3% caninos. De acuerdo a los registros, el sistema mas afectado en los caninos y felinos fue piel y anexos, seguido por las patologias que afectan el sistema digestivo. En el caso de los equinos, se puede apreciar predominio de las enfermedades asociadas al sistema musculo esqueletico con 39.89%. En las tres especies analizadas no se encontraron diferencias significativas en los sistemas afectados con respecto al sexo. Se recomienda al centro de servicios mejorar en el registro de informacion en las historias clinicas. Abstract The study presents a description of the frequency of the casuistry of Centro de Veterinaria y Zootecnia de la Universidad CES, in order to characterize some variables associated with the epidemiological behavior of the diseases in the patients who attend such place. The differences between species and other intrinsic and extrinsic variables were compared, according to the time and the origin of the animals. For the investigation, 5910 data were analyzed, data were recorded between June 1st, 2004 and the May 31st, 2009. During each one of the 5 years of study, there was always a marked predominance of consultation by canine species. The patients come mostly from the municipalities of Medellin (41,90%) and Envigado (38,07%). Ninety-seven percent of the patients from other departments different from Antioquia are of the horse species and 3% are canines. According to the records, the most affected system in canines and felines was skin and annexes, followed by the pathologies that affect the digestive system. In equines, it is possible to see predominance of the diseases associated to the muscle-skeletal system with 39,9%. In the three analyzed species there were not find significant differences in the systems affected regard to the sex. It is recommended to the center of services to improve the information registry that they do in the clinical histories.
