The study aimed to found out the potential efficacy of some bioand synthetic insecticides used against Tuta absoluta (Lepidoptera: Gelechiidae) in tomato greenhouses. Chlorantraniliprole+abamectin, metaflumizone, azadirachtin, emamectin benzoate, spinosad, Bacillus thuringiensis and B. thuringiensis+azadirachtin mixture were applied by spraying method on tomato leaf, which 5 third-stage larvae existed on. Distilled water was used as a control to compare with insecticides. Each of the applications was performed in six replications. The assessments were done at the 1, 3, 5 and 7 DAA (Days After Application) according to the number of live individuals and larval weight.

The study investigated the effect of soil application of neem at different concentrations on lifetable parameters of Myzus persicae (Sulzer) (Hemiptera: Aphididae). After pepper seedlings were transplanted to pots of 1.5 L, the pepper plants had been divided into five different groups to be watered with only irrigation water (as control) and irrigation water containing 250, 500, 750 and 1000 mg L-1 of neem. Based on the results, intrinsic rate of increase (rm), net production rate (R0) and mean generation time (T0) ranged from 0.039 to 0.352 female/female/day, 1.700 to 57.295 female/female and 11.503 to 15.086 days respectively. Doubling time (T2) and finite rate of increment (λ) ranged from 1.970 to 17.915 days and 1.039 to 1.422 individual/female/day, respectively. Consequently, the effect of neem on biological characters of the pest was increased in response to the increase in neem concentration applied systemically through plant root.

Trialeurodes vaporariorum Westwood (Hemiptera: Aleyrodidae) seralarda en yaygin bulunan beyazsinek turleri arasindadir ve seralarda yetistirilen bircok sebze ve sus bitkisinde zararlidir. Ayrica, hizli uremesi ve cabuk yayilma potansiyeline sahip olmasi nedeniyle de mucadelesi zor olan bir zararlidir. Bu calismada, boylu ardic, biberiye, yayla kekigi, lavanta, bahce nanesi, okaliptus, atlas sediri ve zencefil gibi farkli ucucu yaglarin, zararlinin yumurta birakma davranisina etkisi arastirilmistir. Calisma sonucunda, bu ucucu yaglarin zararliya karsi uzaklastirici etkilerinin indeksleri (RI) sirasiyla –11.46, –67.74, 87.14, 20.25, 30.09, 49.37, 25.39, 7.51 seklinde bulunmustur. Sonuc olarak, zararlinin yumurta birakma davranisi uzerine biberiye, yayla kekigi ve okaliptus yaglarinin etkileri istatistiksel olarak onemli bulunmustur. Biberiye yaginin cezbedici etkisi ile yayla kekigi ve okaliptus yaglarinin uzaklastirici etkilerinin entegre zararli yonetimi kapsaminda kullanilmasi, zararliya karsi uygulanacak cevre dostu bir yaklasima sahip mucadele yonteminin iyi bir tamamlayicisi olacaktir.

Solanaceae familyasindan olan domates ( Solanum lycopersicum L.) bir yillik bir sebze turudur. Ulkemizde domates uretimini olumsuz yonde etkileyebilecek pekcok hastalik, zararli ve yabanci ot bulunmaktadir. Zararlilarin konukcu bitki uzerindeki dagilimi, dogal dusmanlarinca aranma faaliyet basarisini onemli derecede etkilemektedir. Bu calismada yetistirme sezonu boyunca, domatesin ana zararlisi konumunda olan Tuta absoluta (Meyrick, 1917) (Lepidoptera: Gelechiidae) ve yine domateste onemli ekonomik kayiplara neden olan Macrosiphium euphorbiae Thomas, 1878 (Hemiptera: Aphididae)’nin sera alaninda ve acik alanda yetistirilen domates bitkilerindeki dikey dagilimi ayri ayri olmak uzere incelenmistir. Sera alaninda calismanin ilk yilinda M. euphorbiae erginlerinin alt>ust>orta yapraklarda, calismanin ikinci yilinda ise orta>ust>alt yapraklar seklinde siraladigi belirlenmistir. Calismanin ilk yilinda T. absoluta larvalarinin alt>ust>orta yapraklarda, calismanin ikinci yilinda ise orta>ust>alt yaprak seklinde siralandigi gozlenmistir. Acik alanda calismanin ilk yilinda M. euphorbiae erginleri alt>orta>ust yapraklarda, calismanin ikinci yilinda ise ust>orta>alt yaprak seklinde siralandigi belirlenmistir. T. absoluta larvalarinin calismanin her iki yilinda da ust>orta>alt yaprak seklinde siralandigi tespit edilmistir.
