Multidisciplinary Working Process of the Psychosocial Care Centers in the Extended Clinic Context

Objective: To discuss the importance of multidisciplinary care for patients in mental distress based on the context of the extended clinic. Method: This is a theoretical essay Results: The WHO and the Pan-American Health Organisation (PAHO) state that mental disorders are 12% of global diseases. In this context, seek the understanding of the organization of CAPS of the multidisciplinary team working process is an important reflection for (re) construction of mental health practices in the territory. From this perspective, the work process seeks to overcome the Cartesian, biological and reductionist conception of the health-disease process, which ignores the subjectivity and strongly present symbolisms in substitutive services to psychiatric hospitals. Conclusion: This essay makes the discussion about care in expanded clinic perspective as practiced in the routine of CAPS. Thus, the expanded clinic production through the organization of the multidisciplinary team working process in CAPS is feasible, and it is important for the implementation of a mental health policy to reduce inequalities and contribute to the strengthening of the patient´s quality of life in mental distress.

Health Education In Family Health Strategy Under User´s Perspective

This study aimed to know the perception of a user group on the subject. It is an exploratory, descriptive study with a qualitative approach. It was held in a Family Health Unit in the municipality of Campina Grande/PB. It was used a semi-structured interview script. For the analysis, the technique of collective subject discourse was used. The interviews were divided into three categories: Users´ knowledge on health education; perception of users about health education activities; and the importance of health education. The speeches associated health education to a biological perspective, characteristic of medical care model and focused on the transmission of knowledge, where the disease is the professional´s care object, opposing the perspective of health surveillance model.

Work Ability of Nurses in Primary Health Care

Objective: To evaluate the Work ability index for nurses in primary health care considering the sociodemographic factors and health conditions of workers.Methods: a Cross-sectional study, of a quantitative approach involving 70 nurses of the Family Health Strategies of a municipality in northeastern Brazil. Data collection occurred in the months of May and June 2015 and used the Brazilian version of a standardized questionnaire to calculate Work Ability Index. For data analysis, the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) was used for descriptive analysis, from the distribution of absolute and relative frequencies of the sociodemographic and labor variables.Results: As a result, it is highlighted that 51.5% of nurses reported “good” current work ability. However, the disease diagnosed more frequently in the last 12 months were musculoskeletal diseases, remaining the endocrine, gastrointestinal and respiratory diseases at the same level.Conclusion: It is concluded that the high percentage of workers with good work ability. However, there is a need to restore the physical and physiological state of nurses working in primary health care. The mentioned strategies aim to maintain a safe and adequate working environment and encourage healthy lifestyle habits and provide permanent training.

Work Precariousness In Family Health Strategy

Objective: To analyze the ways of precariousness work of the Family Health Strategy nurses - FHS. Method: Qualitative study, with analysis of categories that emerged from the research through dialogue with the authors studied on the precariousness of health work. The methodology of oral history and semi-structured interviews were used generating questions as information collection instrument. Results: There were seven (07) nurses of the FHS participating, with a predominance of females, being married, aged between 29 and 47 years old. Nurses understand the precariousness work from their working conditions, lack of structural and infrastructural conditions where the working process takes place. Conclusions: Nurses of the FHS analyzes their working conditions with a level of uniqueness of each FHS; some with a greater level of difficulty, showing the lack of materials and supplies and the lack of adequate physical infrastructure for carrying out their work process.

Accidents by Sharp Instruments of Nursing Professionals in a Hospital Unit

Objective: To analyze the records of work accidents involving nursing professionals by sharp instruments according to the Notifiable Diseases Information System (SINAN). Method: Descriptive and documentary research with a quantitative approach, performed in an Emergency and Trauma Hospital in a Northeast Brazil city in May 2015. Data collection was conducted from work accident records maintained by the Epidemiology sector of the hospital, for the period from 2010 to 2014. The sample was the result of 152 forms. Results: The highest prevalence year of accidents in nursing professionals with sharp instruments was 2014 with 57 cases. On the types of exposure involving biological materials, contact with blood remains the organic material where professionals are more vulnerable to contamination. Situations leading sharp injuries are intravenous drugs (14%), followed by a venous/arterial puncture for blood collection (14%), the venous/arterial puncture unspecified (17.5%) and by improper dispo sal of sharps in the workbenches, beds, or on the floor (12.25%). As regards the causal agent of biological material by accident, there is a prevalence of accidents involving lumen needles, especially between 2013 (51.3%) and 2014 (61.25%). Conclusion: This study enabled to understand better the importance records with accidents caused by sharp instruments and the importance of the indicators analysis so preventive measures can be implemented and the occurrence of accidents are minimized through preventive actions.
