Objective: To discuss the importance of multidisciplinary care for patients in mental distress based on the context of the extended clinic. Method: This is a theoretical essay Results: The WHO and the Pan-American Health Organisation (PAHO) state that mental disorders are 12% of global diseases. In this context, seek the understanding of the organization of CAPS of the multidisciplinary team working process is an important reflection for (re) construction of mental health practices in the territory. From this perspective, the work process seeks to overcome the Cartesian, biological and reductionist conception of the health-disease process, which ignores the subjectivity and strongly present symbolisms in substitutive services to psychiatric hospitals. Conclusion: This essay makes the discussion about care in expanded clinic perspective as practiced in the routine of CAPS. Thus, the expanded clinic production through the organization of the multidisciplinary team working process in CAPS is feasible, and it is important for the implementation of a mental health policy to reduce inequalities and contribute to the strengthening of the patient´s quality of life in mental distress.

This study aimed to know the perception of a user group on the subject. It is an exploratory, descriptive study with a qualitative approach. It was held in a Family Health Unit in the municipality of Campina Grande/PB. It was used a semi-structured interview script. For the analysis, the technique of collective subject discourse was used. The interviews were divided into three categories: Users´ knowledge on health education; perception of users about health education activities; and the importance of health education. The speeches associated health education to a biological perspective, characteristic of medical care model and focused on the transmission of knowledge, where the disease is the professional´s care object, opposing the perspective of health surveillance model.

The importance of knowing the technologies used in mental health services and the urgency of their recognition for the development of psychiatric nursing care is highlighted in the scientific literature on care technologies. Objetivo: To know the types of technologies that nurses have developed or used in mental health care services. Method: Literature integrative review carried out in the databases BDENF, LILACS, SciELO, PubMed, and MEDLINE, using the nursing keywords, health technology, and psychiatric nursing. There were 16 articles selected, included in the period 2000 to 2015. Results: It was identified that in psychiatric nursing care, there are two types of technologies used: soft and soft-hard with emphasis on the soft technology. As soft technologies, there is health education of the patient, bond, care, therapeutic groups and qualified listening. As the soft-hard technologies, there are home visits, medical care, nursing process, nursing care management and nursing process. Conclusion: It was concluded that the care technologies are a reality in nursing care practice, experiencing the challenge to keep up with the technological development without neglecting the ethical and humanitarian aspects intrinsic to the profession. It was realized the care improvement in the area of psychiatric nursing provided by the technology care.

The aim of this article is to investigate feelings and perceptions presented by women diagnosed with breast cancer from the scientific literature. This is an integrative literature review where the studies were collected in databases SciELO, LILACS, CINAHL, Scopus, PubMed, Web of Science and Psycinfo in the months of April, May and June 2015. The sample included 24 publications. Articles selected on the feelings and perceptions facing the diagnosis of breast cancer were mostly linked to the fear of ideas, anxiety, depression, worry and anxiety. Given these findings, it is important that all patients diagnosed with breast cancer have adequate psychological support during all phases of treatment.

Objective: To identify the main procedures performed by nursing staff to newborns with respiratory distress syndrome.Methods: A descriptive study of qualitative approach, conducted through semi-structured interviews with seven nurses in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. The data collection was conducted from August to October 2015. For data analysis, content analysis was used. Results: The identified units of meaning were grouped into three categories: nursing care for newborns affected by respiratory distress syndrome; primary care and procedures performed by nursing to the newborn affected by respiratory distress syndrome; difficulties of nursing for the care of that patient. Conclusion: It is concluded that the overload of activities, the reduced number of staff, lack of materials, equipment and the need for professional development are the nurse´s work reality in this sector. It was noticed a strong and responsible staff with apparent problems, but it was trying to elucidate their work and allowing to pull them away from work overload and structural difficulties in the area.

Objective: To evaluate the Work ability index for nurses in primary health care considering the sociodemographic factors and health conditions of workers.Methods: a Cross-sectional study, of a quantitative approach involving 70 nurses of the Family Health Strategies of a municipality in northeastern Brazil. Data collection occurred in the months of May and June 2015 and used the Brazilian version of a standardized questionnaire to calculate Work Ability Index. For data analysis, the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) was used for descriptive analysis, from the distribution of absolute and relative frequencies of the sociodemographic and labor variables.Results: As a result, it is highlighted that 51.5% of nurses reported “good” current work ability. However, the disease diagnosed more frequently in the last 12 months were musculoskeletal diseases, remaining the endocrine, gastrointestinal and respiratory diseases at the same level.Conclusion: It is concluded that the high percentage of workers with good work ability. However, there is a need to restore the physical and physiological state of nurses working in primary health care. The mentioned strategies aim to maintain a safe and adequate working environment and encourage healthy lifestyle habits and provide permanent training.

Objective: To assess the presence and occupational stress levels in professionals of Mobile Emergency Service (SAMU) of a municipality in Northeast Brazil. Method: It is a descriptive and investigative research, with the application of a questionnaire involving 30 workers. A semi-structured interview technique for data collection and descriptive statistical analysis were used, using percentage calculation and presentation of results in tables. Resultados: As the scientific enterprise product here effected, it is highlighted that 40% of respondents professionals are nurses, male, with service time ranging between 2 and 3 years (40%) and working hours between 40 and 60 hours weekly (36.7%). After analyzing the results that identify the symptoms of stress in professionals interviewed, it could be seen that the verbalized symptoms are related to problems in the musculoskeletal, gastrointestinal and nervous systems, as well as sleep problems. Conclusions: With the data collected and the scientific analysis elaborated, it can be inferred that stress in these professionals is directly linked to their work process in SAMU. It is clear the need to adopt preventive measures to minimize this situation, such as the provision of satisfactory working conditions, the promotion of the physical environment and the performance of educational lectures on occupational stress.

Objective: To analyze the ways of precariousness work of the Family Health Strategy nurses - FHS. Method: Qualitative study, with analysis of categories that emerged from the research through dialogue with the authors studied on the precariousness of health work. The methodology of oral history and semi-structured interviews were used generating questions as information collection instrument. Results: There were seven (07) nurses of the FHS participating, with a predominance of females, being married, aged between 29 and 47 years old. Nurses understand the precariousness work from their working conditions, lack of structural and infrastructural conditions where the working process takes place. Conclusions: Nurses of the FHS analyzes their working conditions with a level of uniqueness of each FHS; some with a greater level of difficulty, showing the lack of materials and supplies and the lack of adequate physical infrastructure for carrying out their work process.

Objective: To analyze the records of work accidents involving nursing professionals by sharp instruments according to the Notifiable Diseases Information System (SINAN). Method: Descriptive and documentary research with a quantitative approach, performed in an Emergency and Trauma Hospital in a Northeast Brazil city in May 2015. Data collection was conducted from work accident records maintained by the Epidemiology sector of the hospital, for the period from 2010 to 2014. The sample was the result of 152 forms. Results: The highest prevalence year of accidents in nursing professionals with sharp instruments was 2014 with 57 cases. On the types of exposure involving biological materials, contact with blood remains the organic material where professionals are more vulnerable to contamination. Situations leading sharp injuries are intravenous drugs (14%), followed by a venous/arterial puncture for blood collection (14%), the venous/arterial puncture unspecified (17.5%) and by improper dispo sal of sharps in the workbenches, beds, or on the floor (12.25%). As regards the causal agent of biological material by accident, there is a prevalence of accidents involving lumen needles, especially between 2013 (51.3%) and 2014 (61.25%). Conclusion: This study enabled to understand better the importance records with accidents caused by sharp instruments and the importance of the indicators analysis so preventive measures can be implemented and the occurrence of accidents are minimized through preventive actions.

It is an integrative literature review with the objective of integrating the knowledge produced about eye accidents in the work environment of health, pointing out the main causes of impairment of visual acuity and protective factors. Five databases were consulted to select the articles - SCOPUS, CINAHL, PubMed, LILACS and Web of Science - which included six articles. The results show that the studies were conducted between 2005 and 2013. The eye accidents were grouped into three categories: the cause of the eye accident, post-accident management, and protection factor. It is concluded that non-adherence to eye protection measures is an important factor in accidents involving the eye, which makes rethink the security policies implemented by health institutions with an emphasis on visual apparatus.
