Two new species of Taraxacum from high mountains of the Iberian Peninsula

Two species of Taraxacum new to science are reported from Spain. Taraxacum ayllonense A. Galán & Vicente Orell. was found in the Spanish Central System, and T. cantabricum A. Galán & Vicente Orell. was collected in the Cantabrian Mountains in northern Spain.

Taraxacum decastroi and T. lacianense (Asteraceae), Two New Species from the Iberian Peninsula

Two new species of Taraxacum are described and illustrated. Taraxacum decastroi A. Galán & Vicente Orell. was found in the Spanish Pyrenees, while T. lacianense A. Taraxacum penyalarense (Asteraceae), a New Species from the Central Mountains of Spain

Taraxacum penyalarense A. Galán, E. Linares & Vicente Orell. is described and illustrated as a new species. It was found in the Iberian Central Mountains, on the Peñalara mountain, Madrid, Spain. It resembles some species of sect. Naevosa, but differs in its rough leaves, horned exterior phyllaries with a scarious border, and pale green achenes.

Typification of two Linnaean names in Araceae: Arum proboscideum L. and Arum muscivorum L. f.

As part of a study of Iberian and Balearic Araceae, two Linnaean names, Arum proboscideum L. and A. muscivorum L. f., are lecto- and neotypified. respectively.

Taraxacum majoricense (Asteraceae), a New Species from the Balearic Islands, Spain

Taraxacum majoricense A. Galán & L. Sáez sp. nova collected from Mallorca in the Balearic Islands is described and illustrated. It is characterized by rough leaves with wide lobes, and by violet achenes. A key to all species of Taraxacum known from the Balearic Islands is provided. Taraxacum tarraconense Sennen is neotypified and newly described. Taraxacum cacuminatum, T. catalanum, T. marklundii and T. tarraconense are new records for the Balearic Islands.

Taraxacum (Asteraceae) in the Azores, Madeira and the Canary Islands

Taraxacum species collected in the Azores, Madeira and the Canary Islands are reported, described and illustrated. Most of them are new records, especially for the Canary Islands flora where T. canariense is the only one reported previously. Taraxacum guanchicum A. Galán & E. Linares & Vicente Orell. is described as a new species from Gran Canaria and Tenerife. A key to and a distribution map of all the species studied are provided.
