Service Oriented Architecture Adoption Trends: A Critical Survey

Ashish Seth; Ashim Raj Singla; Himanshu Aggarwal

Analyst reports are confirming that adoption of SOA is growing; the actual goal of SOA is to help align IT capabilities with business goals. In today’s competitive scenario where business demand changes very frequently, the expectation from technology is raised to level where we are expecting the business processes are developed in such a manner that they can adapt the frequent changes without affecting the overall organization business architecture. Thus the need to assume business processes as a smart services that can be loosely coupled. Thus need of service oriented architecture arises. This paper is a review of articles and research work that have undergone in the past 1 decade (i.e. from 2001 - 2011). The source of data is from most prestigious journal and website covering area of SOA, In this paper we have identified the factors that are relevant to SOA implementation and up to how much extents each factor is crucial to SOA implementation is also identified.

Framework for business values chain activities using SOA and cloud

Ashish Seth; Himanshu Aggarwal; Ashim Raj Singla

Over the past decade a significant growth in software applications that are delivered in the form of services utilising the network infrastructure is witnessed and observed. Both SOA and cloud deals with delivering services to business with improved agility, increased speed and reduced cost that can lead to greater innovation and effective returns on investment. In this work, we proposed an architecture that uses SOA principles and focus how architectural context support the use of cloud computing. We proposed that service-oriented systems and cloud computing can be cross-vertically integrated, agile, ad-hoc and reconfigurable in an autonomic and on-demand manner. Further, this capability of integration can be utilised with the agreed benefit of cloud architecture and can be utilised to provide a business solution in the form of architecture to small and medium enterprises (SMEs).

Service Oriented Framework for Business Objectives

Ashish Seth; Himanshu Aggarwal; Ashim Raj Singla

This paper articulates a way of using unified modelling language (UML) to develop SCM, CRM and other business value chain activities for any SME, our focus is to emphasize on the interfaces of systems. The results show that the UML was useful in the development of information systems. The main objective of this work is to create a functional service-oriented system for ERP, CRM and SCM to share its own services (functionalities) to each other within an application domain.

Decision Making through Multi Rule Algorithm: An Extension to 1 Rule Algorithm

Ashish Seth; Kirti Seth

Mining is a process of searching data in huge database to infer useful information and deduces relationships and patterns. Though we can predict certain patterns from our database manually, but as soon as size of data increases (becomes in terabytes) it becomes difficult and tedious to deduce the important information from huge database (or data warehouse). Various data-mining algorithms exist to identify possible patterns in data. 1Rule algorithm is one such algorithm but is capable of classifying rule based on only one attribute. This paper extends 1Rule algorithm by classifying more rules based on multiple attributes, so that more accurate decision or prediction are made thereby improving revenue and reducing costs in a company. 1Rule creates a rule for a data based on one attribute, it chooses the rule that gives the lowest classification error after comparing the error rates from all the attributes. In our work we identified and create more rules based on multiple attributes by considering the lowest error attribute as the new classified attribute.
