Phase Sensitive Parametric Interactions in a

We report phase sensitive amplification in a 1.5mm long, Ga0.5In0.5P dispersion engineered photonic crystal waveguide which has a flattened dispersion profile. A signal degenerate configuration with pulsed pumps whose total peak power is only 0.5W yields a phase sensitive extinction ratio of 10dB.

Efficient (-14 dB) parametric conversion is demonstrated using a novel platform where dispersion-engineered GaInP waveguides are created on a SiO2-Silicon substrate. The coupled 80 mW continuous wave pump power is still not limited by heating, owing to much improved thermal management.

Photonic Crystal Waveguide

We use two coupled photonic crystal cavities to build an all-optical gate. The control and the modulated signal are separated spectrally by about 10 nm. This device was operated at a rate ranging from 1 to 10 GHz with maximum coupled average power of less than 1 mW in the control signal, which translates to about 100 fJ per control pulse.

Continuous wave parametric conversion using GaInP photonic crystal waveguide on oxide

A photonic crystal molecule is used as an all-optical gate to perform sampling of microwave signals. We demonstrate a very linear operation over a 50dB still with a 1.2mW power consumption.
