An Application of Fuzzy Analytic Hierarchy Process (FAHP) for Evaluating Students' Project.

Ayça Çebi; Hasan Karal

In recent years, artificial intelligence applications for understanding the human thinking process and transferring it to virtual environments come into prominence. The fuzzy logic which paves the way for modeling human behaviors and expressing even vague concepts mathematically, and is also regarded as an artificial intelligence technique has become one of the most preferred methods in the solution of decision problems. Numerous decision-making situations are faced in education as well. Particularly, it is rather challenging and requires experience to decide in a fair way and assessing students performances without making any error in the process of assessment and evaluation. The purpose of the current study is to assess students performance with the fuzzy analytic hierarchy process (FAHP), one of the multi-criteria decision making methods based on the fuzzy logic approach. The formation of the proposed system on the basis of fuzzy set theory determines that it can provide benefits in modeling these ambiguities in human mental processes and also it can reach fairer, more sensitive and objective results. Being used especially in making important decisions in companies and in developing smart vehicles in engineering, FAHP methods have brought into question whether this method can be used in education or not. This study reveals that FAHP method can be used in the evaluation of students projects in education. n n Key words: Performance evaluation, fuzzy multi criteria decision making methods.

Türkiye’deki Uyarlanabilir Eğitsel Hiper Ortam Çalışmalarına Yönelik İçerik Analizi

Tolga Güyer; Ayça Çebi

The purpose of this study is to analyze various studies on adaptive educational hypermedia environments, regarded as a new field of research and application, in a comprehensive way. To this end, all postgraduate thesis studies conducted in Turkey, articles in the journals whose scope covers educational sciences and which published in Turkey, and articles with Turkey address in the international journals indexed in SSCI were reviewed and content analysis was employed. The study will present current situation of this field and also, inform those who are interested in adaptive educational hypermedia environments concerning deficiencies in the field in the light of similar studies conducted abroad.

Modeling of motion problems based on graph theory in maths

Ali Kürşat Erümit; Vasif V. Nabiyev; Ayça Çebi

Among the issues related to the curriculum of math problems; the movement problems, has a significant role because it includes different kinds of problems; and different solution ways and non-routine problems can be used. It is expressed in literature examination that the students have number of difficulties in learning concepts and the relationship between them, so difficulty in teaching mathematics is usually taken. Therefore, mathematics educators agree on the issue that students should develop problem-solving skills and this should be the primary purpose of education. In this study; students instead of memorizing the solutions with formulas are suggested to use a solution model based upon graphic structure in order to understand and achieve to format their meaningful learning. In the study, made on the movement problems, firstly the problems asked about the issue are classified. Then in the generated classes 250 motion problems in different kinds are analyzed with the solution model based upon graphic structure prepared.
