DETERMINATION OF SOME HEMATOLOGICAL PARAMETERS AND NON-SPECIFIC IMMUNE RESPONSES IN Garra rufa (HECKEL, 1843) LIVING IN KANGAL (SİVAS) BALIKLI ÇERMİK THERMAL HOT SPRING AND TOPARDIÇ STREAM (SİVAS)

In this study, Garra rufa Heckel, 1843 (popularly known as doctor fishes), which is a fatty fish species living in Kangal BalA±klA± Cermik Thermal Hot Springs and TopardA±c Stream mixing with these hot spring waters, was investigated. Hema-tological and non-specific immune parameters were investi-gated by comparing each environment in terms of seasons and each season in terms of environments. The amount of eryth-rocyte (RBC) and leukocyte (WBC) in the stream was found to be increased in summer and decreased in winter. On the other hand, no seasonal differences were observed in the pools due to the thermal water. Hb, Hct, monocyte, neutro-phil, phagocytic activity values were found to be low in the winters and high in the summers in the stream whereas no changes were observed in the pools. No difference was found between seasons and environments in terms of the amount of eosinophil cells. Lymphocyte and MCV levels in the stream were found to be increased in winter and decreased in sum-mer. No change was observed in the pools. Seasonal and en-vironmental no difference was observed in MCH values of both pools and the stream, whereas MCHC values in the stream were found to be high in summer and low in winter. In the research, differences in winter and summer seasons and effects of different environments in these values were inves-tigated.

Ceyhan Nehri (Adana-Türkiye)'nin farklı bölgelerinden yakalanan Afrika kedi balığı (Clarias gariepinus Burchell, 1822)’nda su kalitesinin bazı hematolojik parametreler üzerine etkisi

Bu calisma, Ceyhan Nehri’nin evsel, mezbaha ve endustriyel atiklarinin desarj kaynaklarinin yakininda bulunan bolge ile ayni nehir uzerindeki Aslantas Baraji’nin kret alti bolgesinde gerceklestirilmistir. Calismada, su kalitesinin durumu ve bu durumun Afrika kedibaligi ( Clarias gariepinus Burchell, 1822)’ndaki bazi hematolojik parametreler uzerindeki etkileri belirlenmistir. Arastirma, Ceyhan Nehri uzerindeki Aslantas baraji’nin kret alti bolgesi (istasyon I) ile ayni Nehrin evsel, tarimsal ve endustriyel atiklarin mevcut oldugu (istasyon II) bolgesinde yapilmistir. Bu iki istasyonda, su sicakligi, kimyasal oksijen ihtiyaci (KOI), pH, nitrat (NO 3 -N), nitrit (NO 2 -N), amonyak (NH 3 -N) ve cozunmus reaktif fosfor (CRF) degerleri tayin edilmistir. Arastirma, yaz mevsiminde (Haziran, Temmuz, Agustos) ve her bir istasyondan 45 adet balik orneklenerek gerceklestirilmistir. Ayrica hematolojik parametrelerden eritrosit (RBC) ve RBC indeksleri (MCV: Ortalama Eritrosit Buyuklugu, MCH: Ortalama Eritrosit Hemoglobini, MCHC: Ortalama Eritrosit Hemoglobin Konsantrasyonu), lokosit (WBC), hemoglobin (Hb), hematokrit (Hct) degerleri ve lokosit hucre formulleri (lenfosit, monosit, notrofil, eozinofil) ile serum glikoz ve protein seviyeleri gozlenmistir. Istasyon II’deki fiziko-kimyasal parametre KOI, NH 3 -N, NO 2 -N, pH ve CRF seviyeleri, istasyon I’den daha yuksek bulunmustur. Calismada, Ceyhan Nehri’nin desarj bolgesinden yakalanan C.gariepinus ’ta WBC degerleri ve lokosit hucre formullerinde cevresel stresorlerden dolayi artislar, RBC, RBC indeksleri, Hb ve Hct degerlerinde ise azalma tespit edilmistir ( p <0,05). Diger yandan ayni bolgedeki serum glikoz seviyeleri yukselmis, protein degerleri ise dusmustur. Calisma, sucul ekosistemlerin kirliliklerinin biyolojik takiplerinde, hematolojik parametrelerin rasyonel kullanimlari acisindan onem arz etmektedir.
