Forty directly produced electron pairs have been found by following 713.4 m of 200-GeV-proton track length in nuclear emulsion. For these pairs we have analyzed (i) the total energy distribution, (ii) the energy partition between the two members, (iii) the angular divergence, (iv) the transverse momentum distribution, and (v) the invariant mass of the electron pairs. Present theories disagree with our experimental results.

An analysis is made of 3-prong and 5-prong coherent events from an exposure of a stack of Ilford G5 nuclear emulsion to a beam of 200-GeV/c protons. The coherent process is attributed to Coulomb dissociation and diffraction dissociation. Finally, cross sections, multiplicity distributions, and interaction lengths are obtained.

Particle production by 200 GeV/c protons interacting with a proton in nuclear emulsions was studied, and results are presented on the secondaries of the white stars whose space angles were measured with respect to the primary beam. Single-particle rapidity distributions and two-particle correlations are presented and discussed. (LBS)
