Abstract Nuclear structure data from reaction and radioactivity studies on A = 108 have been evaluated and compiled, updating the 1960 Nuclear Data Sheets. Adopted level properties and decay schemes are presented. The compilers have used footnotes throughout the compilation to point out discrepancies, uncertainties, and the lack of data. It is hoped that this evaluation will serve as the basis for further experiments and calculations which will add to the spectroscopic knowledge in the A = 108 mass chain. All data received before November 1971 have been included.

Nuclear structure information available to August 1978 has been reviewed. The level properties obtained from various reaction and decay experiments are shown in the drawings. For odd-odd nuclei, ground and isomeric states are described by p-n coupled Nilsson orbitals. Experimental methods, references, and comments are given in the text.

Abstract Nuclear structure information for all nuclei with mass number A = 177 is summarized. Data from various decay and reaction experiments are compared. Evaluated data and the adopted spin, parity, and Nilsson-state assignments are given. Deviations from the regional trend of Nilsson ground-state assignments are noted for 177 W and 177 Re. Similar shifts have been observed in this region for nuclei 8 to 10 neutrons removed from the β -stability line. In all cases, low-lying K π = 1/2 ± orbitals move to ground.
