Survey of nuclear structure systematics for A ⩾ 229

Y.A. Ellis; M.R. Schmorak

Abstract Log ft values for β- and e -transitions and experimental hindrance factors for a -decays are presented for the A ⩾ 229 mass region in a systematic way. For some favored and hindered a -transitions, comparisons of experimental hindrance factors with theoretical calculations are made. Band-head energies and rotational band parameters are given. Measured magnetic moments of odd-A nuclei are compared with those calculated using Nilsson wavefunctions. Experimental B(E2)† values to first 2 + states in even-even nuclei are plotted as a function of mass number.

Nuclear Data Sheets | 1973

Nuclear data sheets for A = 181*

Y.A. Ellis

The available nuclear structure information for all nuclei with mass number A = 181 is presented. Experimental data and their evaluation; comparison with theory, where possible; and arguments for spin, parity, and Nilsson-state assignments are given. Inconsistencies and discrepancies are indicated.

Nuclear Data Sheets | 1975

Nuclear data sheets for A = 177

Y.A. Ellis; B. Harmatz

Abstract Nuclear structure information for all nuclei with mass number A = 177 is summarized. Data from various decay and reaction experiments are compared. Evaluated data and the adopted spin, parity, and Nilsson-state assignments are given. Deviations from the regional trend of Nilsson ground-state assignments are noted for 177 W and 177 Re. Similar shifts have been observed in this region for nuclei 8 to 10 neutrons removed from the β -stability line. In all cases, low-lying K π = 1/2 ± orbitals move to ground.

Nuclear Data Sheets | 1971

Nuclear data sheets for A = 241

Y.A. Ellis

Abstract Nuclear structure information from decay and reaction experiments pertaining to nuclei with mass number A = 241 is compiled, evaluated, and compared with theory where possible. The level schemes which seem best in the light of the data and theoretical ideas available at this time are presented and discussed. Arguments for spin, parity, and Nilsson state assignments for the levels are given. The adopted level and decay properties are based on data received prior to March 1971.

Nuclear Data Sheets | 1977

Nuclear data sheets for A = 230*

Y.A. Ellis

Abstract Nuclear structure information for all nuclei with mass number A = 230 is evaluated. The results from various decay and reaction experiments are compared. Adopted data, levels, and spin and parity assignments are given.

Nuclear data sheets for A = 237

Y.A. Ellis

Abstract Nuclear structure information from decay and reaction experiments pertaining to nuclei with mass number A = 237 is compiled, evaluated, and compared with theory where possible. The level schemes which seem best in the light of the data and theoretical ideas available at this time are presented and discussed. Arguments for spin, parity, and Nilsson state assignments for the levels are given. The adopted level and decay properties are based on data received prior to March 1971.

Spontaneous fission activities

W.B. Ewbank; Y.A. Ellis; M.R. Schmorak

Abstract For several years, the Nuclear Data Project has been using a standard computer-readable format 1 to organize the results of data evaluations published in Nuclear Data Sheets . Adopted values for level energies, spins, half-lives, radiation properties, and spectroscopic factors are recorded in standard blocks of information, which are then filed onto indexed direct-access storage. The resulting Evaluated Nuclear Structure Data File (ENSDF) is then available as a standard source of nuclear structure information. 2 Computer organization of selected data into pages has been a feature of Nuclear Data Sheets since 1975. As an illustration of the power and potential usefulness of the ENSDF system, we present a collection of nuclear levels for which the spontaneous fission has been studied. The values tabulated have appeared in recent issues of Nuclear Data Sheets . 3 The selection of values and arrangement into a table has been done completely automatically. We welcome comments and criticisms about the form or content of this table.

Nuclear Data Sheets | 1976

Nuclear Data Sheets for A = 224

Y.A. Ellis

Abstract Nuclear structure information for all nuclei with mass number A = 224 is summarized. Evaluated data and the adopted levels and spin and parity assignments are given. Data for 224 Rn and 224 Fr β -decays and 224 Fr decay schemes are from unpublished work by V. P. Afanasev, et al. (1973) , and should be considered preliminary. 224 Ac e -decay data and decay scheme are from unpublished work by M. W. Hill (1958) , who used Nal crystal to detect photons. A complete, more reliable decay work would be desirable, and would be useful to determine the 224 Ac ground-state spin. α -parents are shown on the drawings above their daughters. α -decay data are given as much as possible on the drawings. Unless otherwise indicated, γ -transitions (photon+ce) intensities are shown. For data with uncertainties and references, see A = 228 compilation in this issue. Neutron- and proton-separation energies, and Q-values for decays shown on the drawings have been taken from 1974 mass adjustment by A. H. Wapstra, K. Bos, ad N. B. Gove.
