To study the influence of stachydrine hydrochloride on the inflammatory cytokines and tissue morphology of the re-perfusion model of mice with repetitive cerebral ischemia and probe into the protection mechanism of stachydrine hydrochloride for cerebral ischemia reperfusion impairment. Build a repetitive cerebral ischemia reperfusion model by first blocking the common carotid artery on both sides for 10 min, then resuming perfusion for 10 min and then blocking the common carotid artery on both sides again for 10 min. Before the operation, all the mice in the Nimodipine group, and the big, medium and small stachydrine hydrochloride dose groups were given corresponding gastric perfusion, the mice in the sham operation group and the modeled groups were at the same time given 0.5% sodium carboxymethyl cellulose for gastric perfusion of the same volume. The medicine was fed daily for 7 consecutive days. The model was built 1 h after the last feed and the perfusion continued for 24 h after the operation. Then the death rate of the mice was calculated. The mouse brains were taken out to test the ICAM-1 level and the TNF-α level, and the serum was taken out to test the NSE level and the MPO level. The tissue morphology changes were also observed. All the repetitive cerebral ischemia reperfusion models were successfully duplicated. The stachydrine hydrochloride in all the dose groups significantly reduced the death rates of big and small mice, reduced the level of ICAM-1 and the level of TNF-α in the brain tissues and the NSE level and the MPO level in the serum, significantly alleviating the pathological impairment in the hippocampus. Stachydrine hydrochloride can significantly reduce the death rate of mice, improve the pathological changes in the hippocampus, inhibit inflammatory reactions after ischemia, thus reducing the re-perfusion impairment after cerebral ischemia.

Mengfan Peng; Bao-Song Liu; Mingsan Miao

Chronic prostatitis (CP) is one of the most common diseases of adult males and urology, which affects the physical and mental health of patients severely. Currently the treatment of chronic prostatitis has entered comprehensive treatment era. External therapy plays an important position in comprehensive treatment because of the advantages as easy to use and better clinical curative effect. External therapies commonly include sitz bath, physical therapy, rectally, navel therapy, transuurethral perfusion, prostate injection and transperineal ultrasound. This article analyzes the Chinese medicine symptoms, etiology and pathogenesis, and characteristics of CP with external therapy of Chinese medicine.

Analysis on the Application and Characteristics of Chinese Patent Medicines Containing Ginger

Bao-Song Liu; Ming Bai; Ming-San Miao

Ginger taste acrid flavor, slightly warm in nature, tropism of spleen, stomach and lung. Ginger has the effect of inducing sweat and dispelling exogenous evils, eliminating phlegm and relieving cough and warming middle energizer to arrest vomiting. Since ancient times, China has been saying that ginger can cure any diseases. In Zhou Qins history, the cultivation, consumption and medical use of ginger were recorded in detail. With the continuous digging of ginger in edible and medicinal fields, the application of Chinese patent medicine containing ginger is also concerned all over the world. The research on ginger and its products has been the focus of peoples attention, but the research and application of Chinese patent medicine containing ginger is less. This paper summarizes Chinese patent medicine containing ginger, analyzes its application and characteristics, provides theoretical basis for the use of Chinese patent medicine containing ginger.

Current Situation and Thinking of Chinese Medicine Aromatherapy

Ming Bai; Bao-Song Liu; Ming-San Miao

For thousands of years, traditional Chinese medicine uses the aromatic composition of natural aromatic plants, through massage, smell of incense and for external application produces an anti-disease and health care function on body. Traditional Chinese medicine aromatherapy can be used to refresh the brain, dispel evil spirits, expel mosquitoes, and have the function of invigorating, anti-wrinkle skin and skin care. In addition, there are a lot of applications for trauma and beauty. This article reviews the research achievements of aromatherapy in action mechanism and action pathway, and provides a reference for further study, development and application of aromatherapy.

Objective: To study the effects of the different components of the total flavonoids and total saponins from Mao Dongqings active site on the rats of TIA model, determine the optimal reactive components ratio of Mao Dongqing on the rats of TIA. Methods: TIA rat model was induced by tail vein injection of tert butyl alcohol, the blank group was injected with the same amount of physiological saline, then behavioral score wasevaluated. Determination the level of glutamic acid in serum, the activity of Na+-K+-ATP enzyme, CA++-ATP enzyme and Mg++-ATP enzyme in Brain tissue, observe the changes of hippocampus in brain tissue, the comprehensive weight method was used to evaluate the efficacy of each component finally. Results: The contents of total flavonoids and total saponins in the active part of Mao Dongqing can significantly improve the pathological changes of brain tissue in rats, improve the activity of Na+-K+-ATP enzyme, Ca++-ATP enzyme and Mg++-ATP enzyme in the brain of rats, and reduce the level of glutamic acid in serum. The most significant of the contents was the ratio of 10:6. Conclusion: The different proportions of total flavonoids and total saponins in the active part of Mao Dongqing all has a better effect on the rats with TIA, and the ratio of 10:6 is the best active component for preventing and controlling TIA.

Aim To establish a Friend murine leukemia virus (FLV)-induced immunodeficient BALB/C mouse model and investigate the effects of Fuzheng Paidu tablets on the body weight, thymus, spleen, and CD4+ and CD8+ T lymphocytes of FLV-infected mice. FLV was passaged twice in BALB/c mice. The infected mice were divided into six groups of ten mice based on their weights. The groups included the normal control group; virus control group; AZT group; high- (2.8 g/kg), medium- (1.4 g/kg), and low-dose (0.7 g/kg) Fuzheng Paidu tablet groups; and Fuzheng Paidu decoction (10 g/kg) group. The mice were administered Fuzheng Paidu tablets via gavage for 21 days. The body weight and changes in the thymus, spleen, and CD4+ and CD8+ T lymphocytes of each mouse were measured. Results The splenic weight of the virus control group is significantly higher than that of the normal control group, with significant splenomegaly. In addition, the splenic inhibition indices of the AZT group and the high- and medium-dose Fuzheng Paidu tablet groups were approximately 93.80%, 37.80%, and 28.07%, respectively. Furthermore, the high and medium dose Fuzheng Paidu tablets could increase the thymus weights of the infected mice. Conclusion Fuzheng Paidu tablets could inhibit splenomegaly, lower the splenic indices, and increase the thymic weights and thymic indices of FLV-induced immunodeficient mice.

Current Research Situation of Multipurpose Use of Traditional Chinese Medicine

Bao-Song Liu; Ming Bai; Ming-san Miao

The inherent characteristics of traditional Chinese medicine are multi components and multi targets, which lays a theoretical foundation for the multipurpose use of traditional Chinese Medicine. The compatibility of traditional Chinese medicine may produce new curative effect and enlarge its application foundation. A variety of effective ingredients in the single herb, Chinese herbal compound and proprietary Chinese medicine are the material basis of multi target effect of Chinese medicine. There are differences in the treatment of diseases due to different flavor and meridian tropism, different routes of administration and different medicinal sites. This paper on the basis of our laboratory using traditional Chinese medicine, analysis of current research situation of multipurpose use of Chinese Medicine, to explore its application in the treatment of diseases.
