Modeling Context and Exchange Format for Context-Aware Computing

Bayu Erfianto; Ahmad Kamil Mahmood; Abdullah Sani Abdul Rahman

This paper presents modeling concern to construct context data format that is applicable for context-aware computing. The first concern deals with developing abstract model at application entity which is defined independently from presentation entity. Regarding to this matter, the context data format have been constructed as higher and lower abstraction model presented in OWL and XML instance. The second concern deals with mapping lower abstraction model to exchange format. JSON exchange format is proposed in this paper as the alternative to the incumbent XML. The context data format, which is constructed at lower abstraction model, has been transformed to JSON by applying XSLT rule. As a result, JSON exchange format is obviously smaller than XML in term of exchange format size.

Upwelling Solution Prototype Using Wireless Sensor Network

Novian Anggis Swastika; Sidik Prabowo; Bayu Erfianto

One of the problems in the freshwater fisheries sector is the phenomenon of upwelling can occur anytime without warning signs, especially in lakes and lake. This problem causes a failed harvest and fish farming business owners suffered a great loss due to the death of fish in large numbers. Upwelling caused by toxic substances results increased nitrification from fish feces and remaining fish feed deposited at the bottom of the Lake and rises to the surface quickly. Ammonia (NH3) in the form of ionized causing no fish that are on the surface of the Lake is not enough oxygen to meet the needs of hemoglobin, so cannot bind oxygen or lack of dissolved oxygen (DO). The condition causes the death of the fish very much. This research built a monitoring system to monitor the condition of the temperature at the surface and at the underwater of the lake and to monitor DO levels to check the possibility of upwelling. Temperature sensor and DO sensor connect with microcontroller and . The results of experiment system on the area fish farms (karamba) and not the area fish farms, obtained the test results are accurate and real time.

Design of Connectivity Preserving Flocking Using Control Lyapunov Function

Bayu Erfianto; Riyanto T. Bambang; Hilwadi Hindersah; Intan Muchtadi-Alamsyah

This paper investigates cooperative flocking control design with connectivity preserving mechanism. During flocking, interagent distance is measured to determine communication topology of the flocks. Then, cooperative flocking motion is built based on cooperative artificial potential field with connectivity preserving mechanism to achieve the common flocking objective. The flocking control input is then obtained by deriving cooperative artificial potential field using control Lyapunov function. As a result, we prove that our flocking protocol establishes group stabilization and the communication topology of multiagent flocking is always connected.

Swarm Robot Flocking Assisted by Explicit Communication

Bayu Erfianto; Riyanto T. Bambang

Flock-like motion has been used in swarm robotics to make a formation of mobile robots involved in swarm such as to mimic crowd and movement in swarm behavior. The originality of this paper is to propose flock-like motion in swarm robotics guided by explicit communication broadcasted by robot agents via wireless network. The objective of this paper is the effect of explicit communication in flocking behavior and analyze the ratio of broadcasted message to the flock action. To achieve the objective, a simulation has been carried out and the results have been presented.
