Using rapidity gaps to distinguish between Higgs boson production by {ital W} and gluon fusion

T. Lungov; C. O. Escobar

The possibility of distinguishing between two Higgs boson production mechanisms, {ital W} fusion and gluon fusion, due to rapidity gap existence is investigated using the Monte Carlo event generator PYTHIA. It is shown that, considering the designed c.m. energy and luminosity for the CERN LHC, it is not possible to distinguish between the two Higgs boson production processes as, for a given integrated luminosity, they lead to the same number of events containing a rapidity gap. {copyright} {ital 1996 The American Physical Society.}

We study the constraints on masses and mixing angles imposed by the measured Z 0 invisible width, in a model in which a singlet right-handed neutrino mixes with all the standard model neutrinos
