The integrative literature review aimed to raise the current state of knowledge on econometric models of projection of the labor force in Brazil and to identify the most suitable for application in Primary Health Care. The search was conducted in several sources: electronic databases, journals, conference proceedings, cross-reference and Plataforma Lattes, through descriptors and key words. The sample consisted of nine publications, which were read, summarized and analyzed. The results indicate the use of six methods to estimate labor force, but most of the methodologies propose predictive calculations for staff sizing with a view to the immediate allocation / reallocation of professionals. It emphasizes the impossibility of defining the best econometric model for the projection of health manpower in primary health care, due to the small number of national publications on the subject, which showed no homogeneity, although they display a greater concern with the allocation of health manpower, especially in hospitals.

ABSTRACT: This study examines the behavior of health indicators deployment of Family Health in the cities of Rio de Janeiro, Nova Iguacu and Duque de Caxias. This is ecological study of time series of selected variables in the period 1998 to 2010. Data were collected at the websites of DATASUS and Department of Primary Care and later exported into a spreadsheet, tabulated and analyzed using inferential statistics with calculation of Pearson coefficient (r) and t test at a significance level of 5% (α = 0.05). There was a strong negative correlation with statistical significance between the evolution of family health and: number of deaths from infectious and parasitic diseases in Rio de Janeiro and Duque de Caxias; frequency of hospitalized children with diarrhea in Rio de Janeiro and Nova Iguacu; and frequency of hospitalization for diabetes mellitus in Rio de Janeiro. It is concluded that the strategy of family health influence the behavior of health indicators for the cities studied, however, further research will be needed to investigate further the impact of family health in cities with high population density.

ABSTRACT Objectives: to compare the attitudes regarding interprofessional collaboration of health professionals that make up the Family Health Strategy teams participating in the ‘More Doctors’ (Mais Médicos) program; and to identify factors associated with attitudes of interprofessional collaboration. Method: a descriptive, transversal and comparative study developed with 63 health professionals who responded to the Jefferson Scale of Attitudes Toward Interprofessional Collaboration. The data were statistically analyzed. Results: the sum of the scale items ranged from 88 to 139 points. The analysis of all the Family Health teams indicated statistically significant differences between the scores of the scale and the professional category and between the scores and the education level, suggesting that nurses and professionals with higher education are more inclined towards collaborative practice. The analysis according to the profile of the doctor - Brazilian, Cuban or foreign exchange doctor - found no statistical differences regarding the physicians’ scores, nor in the scores of the components of teams with different profiles. Conclusion: the profile did not suggest a statistically significant greater or lesser inclination of the doctors or teams toward interprofessional work. This study can support new studies which will contribute to the analysis of inter-professional collaboration and the impact of the Mais Médicos program.

Helicobacter pylori is a Gram negative bacterium that cause chronic gastritis, duodenal ulcers and can predispose the gastric cancer. The study aimed to determinate the prevalence of H. pylori infection by different methods of diagnosis in patients submitted to endoscopy. Of the 145 patients included in the study, were collected fragments of gastric mucosa for histological analysis, and for the rapid urease test. The breath test was also performed. The H. pylori infection was detected in 84 (57.9%) patients by histological study, the rapid test of urease was positive in 81 (55,8%) and the breath test in 62 (56,3%). There was no statistically significant difference when comparing the prevalence of infection by different methods of diagnosis. The prevalence of H. pylori infection in our community was lower than that found in the literature for patients with age similar to this study (mean = 53.19 years).
