The main goal of the herein work is to identify the main medication errors registered in the literature and discuss, in accordance with what was discovered, the strategies to avoid medication errors with the aim of patient safety . A systematized research of the literature in the Lilacs, Medline, Scielo and BDENF data base with the following descriptions: nursing and medication errors between the timeframe of 2002 to 2009. The categories brought forth were main prevention strategies and errors. The main related errors were the following:the sub-notification due to fear of penalty and retaliation; unsafe work environment and lack of communication. As preventive measurements it is foreseeable a continued education, adequate work conditions, a planned nursing assistance and the optimization of interdisciplinary communication.

Exploratory research with a quantitative approach, processing of data with Epi-Info. Objectives: To identify the demand for care of the school community, plan and implement an area of health care. The scenario was the Technical Institute of Culture of Volta Redonda, Rio de Janeiro, having as subjects students and staff who sought medical care. Results: 486 appointments made due to health complications in 2008. The highest incidences are related to headache, malaise and cramps. The area of health care will be deployed in a space of approximately 110 m2, located on the ground floor of ICT. It is concluded that the participation of nurses in the school environment, as manager of nursing care is essential and can generate positive effects in promoting the health of individuals in the school environment, contributing to an appropriate service, giving its users a careful risk-free to promote their health

Exploratory nature of this research aims to recognize the causes of problems related to health community school, served in the Division of Educational Guidance and prepare schedule of Health Education to work within an appropriate place: Area of health care in Institute of Culture Technology - ICT in the city of Volta Redonda - RJ. The interest in developing this research was due to a large number of clinical events in the school environment. The approach is quantitative and processing of data through the EpiInfo 3.3.2. The method of data collection will be through a form that all the focus of care performed by nurses to the school community, ie students, staff and relatives attending the ICT. It is intended to establish an area of health care to the clients is preserved in its intimacy, avoiding excessive exposure and embarrassment.
