Abstract The zooplankton of 16 mountain lakes in the Taurus Range was studied during 1996 and 1997, and a total of 116 zooplankton taxa, comprising 69 rotifers, 33 cladocerans, 12 copepods, one anostracan, and one chonchostracan was identified. Four rotifers (Brachionus polyacanthus, Asplanchnopus hyalinus, Lecane haliclysta, Dissotrocha aculeata medio-aculeata) and one copepod (Arctodiaptomus (Rh.) alpinus) are new for Turkish inland waters, and they are illustrated.

An updated checklist of the extant non-marine Ostracoda of Iran, with 74 species in all, is presented, based on literature and new collections made in May 2011. The occurrence of 19 non-marine ostracod species recovered from 10 localities in May 21-26, 2011 is reported together with ecological data. Eucypris kerkyrensis Stephanides, 1937, Ilyocypris inermis Kaufmann, 1900, Psychrodromus fontinalis Wolf, 1920, and P. olivaceus (Brady & Norman, 1889) are new to the fauna of Iran. Eucypris mareotica (Fischer, 1855) is redescribed and its taxonomic position is discussed. It is shown that E. mareotica-synonymous with E. inflata-does not belong to the genus Eucypris sensu stricto, and even not to the subfamily Eucypridinae; as its characters do not fit any available genus, the species is therefore provisionally left in the genus Eucypris at present. Eucypris mongolica (Daday, 1909) is proposed to be considered an infraspecific variety of E. mareotica. The following new combination is here proposed: Strandesia ambigua (Ghetti, 1972) nov. comb.

Abstract The two freshwater ostracods, Humphcypris subterranea (Hartmann, 1964) and Herpe-tocypris brevicaudata Kaufmann, 1900, are reported from a stream near Köyceğiz in southwestern Anatolia. These are the first records for Turkey. The ecological parameters of the collection sites are given and the taxonomic status of the species is discussed.

Abstract A bisexual population of Hungarocypris madaraszi (Örley, 1886) was found in a dead arm of the Küçük Menderes River near Torbalı (İzmir). The species is a new record for the freshwater ostracod fauna of Turkey.

Abstract Hemicypris vulgaris Okubo, 1990, Stenocypris bolieki Ferguson, 1962 and Bradleystrandesia parva (Hartmann, 1964) are reported from a tributary of the Gönen River (Balikesir) in Turkey. Hemicypris vulgaris is reported for the first time from Turkey. The finding of Bradleystrandesia parva is especially important as its original description is brief and inadequate. This paper provides details of redetection of the three species and comments on their variability and possible cryptic speciation.

Bati Karadeniz Bolgesi’nde bulunan on uc golun (Poyrazlar Golu, Kucuk Akgol, Taskisigi Golu, Buyuk Akgol, Acarlar Golu, Melen Golu, Yenicaga Golu, Abant Golu, Golcuk Golu, Karamurat Golu, Suluklu Gol, Cubuk Golu, Sunnet Golu) zooplankton faunasi incelenmistir. Her golde 2002 ve 2003 yazinda iki plankton orneklemesi yapilmistir. Calisma sonucunda rotiferlerden 69, kladoserlerden 25 ve kopepodlardan 13 olmak uzere toplam 107 takson saptanmistir.
