n Abstractn n Just like Internet shopping, TV shopping as an emerging powerful channel of distribution has shown substantial growth in sales and in the number of customers over the past decade. Compared to Internet shopping, the consumer behavior of TV shopping is nonetheless neglected. This paper sheds light on the consumer behavior of TV travel product shopping and specifically investigates the relationships between perceived value, satisfaction, and loyalty of TV shoppers. The findings reveal that in general only the effect of perceived value, but not satisfaction, on loyalty is supported. Furthermore, the consumer product involvement shows its moderating effects on the value–satisfaction–loyalty model.n n

The convention sector is one of the fastest growing and most lucrative areas of the tourism industry. Solving for the most salient determinants in selecting or organizing a destination for conventions and seeing out their success is an important research topic. This study proposes the analytical hierarchy process (AHP) approach, a decision-making method based on pairwise comparisons between criteria, to construct an evaluation structure with criteria and associated weights of convention site selection for meeting planners. A case study with a three-level evaluation structure is constructed and tested. The findings indicate that the AHP approach is a useful tool to help support a decision in convention site selection.

This article uses the Holt–Winters method, the seasonal ARIMA (SARIMA) model, and the GM(1,1) grey forecasting model to replicate monthly inbound air travel arrivals to Taiwan and to compare the models’ forecasting performance. It uses the mean absolute percent error (MAPE) for the measurement of forecast accuracy and implements turning point analysis (TPA) to compare the model performance between the direct and indirect forecast methods. Based on the out-of-sample forecasts, all fitted models have good forecasting performance in terms of the MAPE criterion, and the SARIMA model is the best one for forecasting inbound air travel arrivals to Taiwan. According to the TPA results, this article supports the out-performance of the indirect forecast method.

This study empirically examines the dynamic relationships among tourism, economic growth, and CO2 emissions and compares the effects of tourism on economic growth and CO2 emissions between developed and developing economies. By employing robust panel econometric techniques, the results show that tourism has significant positive impacts on economic growth for both developed and developing economies, supporting the prevailing hypothesis of tourism-led economic growth. The results also reveal that the impact of tourism on CO2 emissions is reducing much faster in developed economies than in developing economies, providing evidence of the environmental Kuznets curve (EKC) hypothesis on the link between tourism growth and CO2 emissions. Our findings demonstrate the importance of the classification of countries by economic development level to obtain a deeper understanding of relationships among tourism, economic growth, and CO2 emissions. Policy implications are provided and discussed.
