Changes and challenges in the after sales service due to the electric mobility

Uwe Dombrowski; Christian Engel; Sven Schulze

The automotive aftermarket is an important factor for the sustainable business success of the original equipment manufacturer, the suppliers and the service stations. But the predictable change of technology from internal combustion engine to electric mobility will have a high impact on the whole automotive aftermarket. Enterprises have to adapt their business strategy to stay competitive in the market and to discover new business segments. In this paper possible changes for the aftermarket and the accompanying alterations for the stakeholders of the market are derived.

Zukunftsgerechte Gestaltung des After Sales Service

Uwe Dombrowski; Sven Schulze; Christian Engel

Obsolescence Management as a Tool for Effective Spare Parts Management

Sven Schulze; Christian Engel; Henning Leichnitz

Spare parts for long-living primary products have to be constantly available during the supply period, which may be up to several decades. Due to special characteristics electronic spare parts are particularly problematic and require specific attention in spare parts management. Electronic elements are often discontinued by semiconductor manufacturers since their main customers, like communication and information technology industry, constantly demand new and better products. The OEM of long living primary products are faced with the problem of not being able to predict which components and electronic elements will become obsolete, i.e. unavailable at a certain point of time. Gathering information and deriving required measures are tasks of the obsolescence management. In this article a structured methodology is described how an effective obsolescence management can be applied and how the needed obsolescence management database can be selected.

Consideration of Changing Impact Factors for Optimization of Post-series Supply

Uwe Dombrowski; Sebastian Weckenborg; Christian Engel

The increased use of electric and electronic components is a trend in several branches of industry. The short life cycles of these innovative components compared with the life cycles of the primary products lead to challenges regarding an effective spare parts management. To guarantee an availability of spare parts during the whole period of the post-series supply, a period of up to 15 years in the automobile industry, a structured planning process is needed. The current approaches for the planning of the post-series supply concentrate on static impact factors to evaluate a supply scenario for the post-series supply, but for a detailed assessment of possible supply strategies changing impact factors have to be considered. A methodical approach for this will be described in this paper.

Elektromobilität und After Sales Service

Uwe Dombrowski; Christian Engel; Constantin Malorny

Uwe Dombrowski; Constantin Malorny; Christian Engel
