This article discusses the origin of university students’ money, the way they use it as well as the meaning they grant it. The research that originated this discussion had a quantitative approach and descriptive scope; it was conducted among 714 Colombian university students who attended daytime classes, and it aimed at identifying the place they give to money as socializing factor. It was found that from the perspective of these young people, money is not a predominant factor in the social relations established at college and that, even when the main meaning that they attribute to money is romantic, its main use is for fun.

Esta investigacion da cuenta de elementos que inciden en la articulacion entre estas dos politicas, a partir de un estudio de caso instrumental que identifica las dificultades en el proceso de implementacion de los compromisos asignados por la politica de prevencion y erradicacion del trabajo infantil al sistema educativo. Para la reconstruccion del caso, se analizaron documentos de politica de las dos ultimas decadas y se consultaron 42 actores en distintos niveles del sistema educativo y de proteccion en Colombia y Bogota. Se encuentra que el conocimiento e interpretacion del trabajo infantil, la articulacion entre los diferentes niveles del sistema educativo y la capacidad tecnica y operativa de los actores que deben implementar las acciones establecidas por la politica de prevencion y erradicacion del trabajo infantil, al interior de las instituciones educativas, resultan factores imprescindibles para responder de manera pertinente a la realidad de los estudiantes trabajadores. EnglishAvoiding ruptures in educational trajectories due to social problems demands synergic actions between social policy and educational policy. This research gives an account of the elements that affect the articulation between these two policies, based on an instrumental case study that deepens the difficulties in the implementation process of the commitments assigned by the policy of prevention and eradication of child labor to the system educational. For the reconstruction of the case, policy documents of the last two decades were analyzed and 42 actors were consulted at different levels of the education and protection system in Colombia and Bogota. It is found that the knowledge and interpretation of child labor, the articulation between the different levels of the educational system, and the technical and operational capacity of the actors that must implement the actions established by the policy of prevention and eradication of child labor inside the educational institutions, are indispensable factors to respond in a pertinent way to the reality of working students. portuguesEvitar rupturas nas trajetorias educacionais causadas por problematicas sociais demanda acoes sinergicas entre a politica social e a politica educacional. Esta pesquisa da conta dos elementos que influenciam a articulacao destas duas politicas por meio de um estudo de caso instrumental que identifica as dificuldades no processo de execucao dos compromissos estabelecidos para o sistema educativo na politica de prevencao e erradicacao do trabalho infantil. Foram analisados documentos de politica das duas ultimas decadas e foram consultados 42 atores de diferentes niveis dos sistemas educacionais e de protecao na Colombia e Bogota. Foi encontrado que o conhecimento e forma de interpretacao do trabalho infantil; a articulacao entre os diferentes niveis do sistema educacional; e a capacidade tecnica e operativa dos atores que devem executar as acoes estabelecidas na politica de prevencao e erradicacao do trabalho infantil nas instituicoes educacionais constituem fatores imprescindiveis para atender de forma relevante a realidade dos alunos trabalhadores.
