Die zielgerichtete Nutzung der aktiven Momentenverteilung auf die vier Antriebsrader hat in den vergangenen Jahren zunehmende Bedeutung erlangt, wenn es darum ging, sowohl das Fahrverhalten als auch die Traktion zu verbessern. Mit dem Hinterachsgetriebe Vector Drive realisiert ZF ein solches Torque-Vectoring-System an der Hinterachse. Dieser Beitrag beschreibt die Umsetzung einer prazisen Momenteneinstellung sowie einer robusten Funktionsgewahrleistung unter Einhaltung der Sicherheitsanforderungen fur die Serienproduktion.

The vector drive rear axle transmission

Goal-directed utilization of active torque distribution to the four drive wheels has become increasingly important in the last few years, especially with a view to improving both driving dynamics and traction. With the Vector Drive rear axle transmission, ZF generates such a torque vectoring system at the rear axle. This paper describes how such a rear axle torque vectoring system can be implemented while fulfilling the requirements of precise torque control and robust functional availability with adherence to safety requirements as well as suitability for volume production. Based on the technical description of the system and its setup, the interaction of the individual components within the overall functionality is demonstrated.

All-wheel drive

Besides improving the traction, all-wheel drives can offer advantages for driving dynamics and safety by balancing yaw moments via torque distribution. In this article by ZF Friedrichshafen the components and functionalities of such a system are presented, including additional features like integrating a superimposed steering system into the control system.
