Dynamic analysis of a kinematic axis with electromechanical controller

Cornel Ciupan; Liviu Morar

Abstract The paper presents the mathematical model of a kinematic axis with ac motor drive and servo drive controller. The servo drive controller is composed of a differential mechanism and a speed variator. The influence of the load on the differential mechanism input elements will be analysed. In other papers, the authors analysed the behaviour of an ideal controller. In this paper was realised a mathematical model in which it was take in account the shift and the efficiency. Using numerical methods, the differential equation will be solved and as a result, the response of the system for different input signals.

The Mathematical Model of Abrasive Waterjet Milling Process

Cornel Ciupan; A. Pop; Liviu Morar

The paper presents the mathematical model of abrasive waterjet milling process. Based on analysis of existing models the authors realize a new mathematical model, considering some simplifying hypothesis. This model uses output data from model [1] and determines the advance speed, the consumption of the abrasive and the productivity of the process. To establish the productivity of the process and the advance speed we’ll use the “energy preservation” model. This model takes in account the material characteristics. The mathematical model has been solved numerical and the results have been interpreted.

Designing a Hybryd Equipment for Additive Manufacturing

Eles Arnold; Calin Neamtu; Cornel Ciupan; Anton Popa

In terms of the development of 3D printers we can say that in the first stage of evolution the huge majority of them were able to print 3D using 3 axis numerically controlled. Currently there are several types of printers that can print in 4 and 5-axis developed using classical solutions (portal or parallel structure). Another direction of development is the combination of 3D printers and traditional manufacturing equipment, with an already existing commercial solution (Hermle MPA 40) that combines milling and MPA technology (Metal Powder-Application). This paper presents a hybrid equipment that can be placed in the specific additive manufacturing category, combining milling operations (4 axis) and turning with 3D printing using FDM technology. The machine uses stepper motors for driving kinematic axes, a DC motor (16 000 rev / min) to drive the main shaft of the mill and a three-phase motor for turning. The software used for milling and turning is Mach3, while MatterControl is used for 3D printing.

Mathematical Model for the Calculation of Linear Speed for a Water Jet Cutting Machine

Silvia Ferent-Pipas; Bogdan Padurean; Cornel Ciupan

This article is about creating a mathematical model for the calculation of linear speed, of a water jet machine, depending on the thickness of the material, the water pressure, the abrasive rate flow and the required cut quality, in order to justify the cutting costs of a water jet machine that are directly proportional with the necessary cutting time. Finding the cutting speed, it can be find the necessary time for the cutting, and so, the resulting costs for the process. The optimization of the process, after some minimize and maximize criteria is also presented in this article.

The influence of the load on the behavior of the electromechanical variator

Cornel Ciupan; Mihai Steopan; Emilia Ciupan

The paper presents the mathematical model of a kinematic axis with a.c. motor drive and servo drive variator. The servo drive variator is composed of a differential mechanism and a friction variator. The influence of the load on the differential mechanism input elements will be analyzed. The mathematical model taking into consideration the shift of the friction variator and the efficiency. Using numerical methods, the differential equation has been solved and as a result, the response of the system for different variation of the load.
