Field strength prediction in indoor environment with a neural model

Ileana Popescu; Ioan Nafornita; G. Gavriloaia; Philip Constantinou; Cornelia Gordan

This paper presents the results of our studies concerning the application of the neural networks to the field strength prediction in an indoor environment. The proposed model consists of a multilayer perceptron trained with measurements. The results of the prediction show good agreement with the measurements.

Application of fourier method in energetics, for root-mean-square value and phase shift measurement

Dorina-Mioara Purcaru; I. Purcaru; Cornelia Gordan; Elena Niculescu; S.D. Nedelcut

Recorded information about transmission system faults or disturbances is essential for determining the performance of system components and to analyze the nature and cause of a disturbance in energetics. The systems for disturbance recording perform the monitoring and analysis of different events specific to energetic systems. The root-mean-square (RMS) values and phase shifts of voltages and currents are widely used in post-failure analysis and for monitoring the characteristic parameters of electric lines. This paper deals with the Fourier method adequate for measurement of RMS values and phase shifts in energetic systems. Experimental results obtained using a system for disturbance recording in power stations of energetic system are also presented.

System for the testing of LEDs colour and intensity

M. T. Tomşe; Cornelia Gordan; R. Filip

LED test can be done in several stages of the manufacturing process of a device. Although ICTs can check the electrical parameters of LEDs, they do not always have extensions for chrominance and luminance measurements. This paper presents a test system for both colour and light intensity of LEDs, designed to communicate with a computer via USB. Test system has a graphical interface that allows operation in two modes: LED tester or colour detector. Also, the test system can be integrated into an ICT, through small changes to the program running on the computer, to be called from the program that controls the ICT.

PC104 Interface Recommended for High Speed Data Acquisition Systems

Dorina Purcaru; Cornelia Gordan; Romulus Reiz; Anca Purcaru

The interface presented in this paper is recommended for high speed data acquisition systems; it performs a synchronized sampling of all common-mode or differential analog inputs with a high sampling rate. This is a low cost interface, entirely controlled by the PC104 CPU. Programmable electronic modules that contain such PC104 interfaces can be found running in the energetic system from Romania; these dedicated equipments perform the analog and digital signal acquisition for monitoring and recording different specific transient events. Some experimental results obtained using the disturbance monitoring device PC-08/104 are also presented in this paper.

Comparative study of Google Android, Apple iOS and Microsoft Windows Phone mobile operating systems

Ovidiu Constantin Novac; Mihaela Novac; Cornelia Gordan; Tamás Bérczes; Gyöngyi Bujdosó

This paper focuses on a comparative study of the most used three operating systems for mobile devices: Google Android, Apple iOS and Microsoft Windows Phone. The article presents which are the most important features of this three operating systems. The paper also deals with the features that these operating systems have in common and analyzes some of their disadvantages.

Aspects about the conversion of geothermal energy into electricity in the north west of Romania

Aurel Setel; Dorina Purcaru; Cornelia Gordan; Cornel Antal; Ioan Mircea Gordan

Based on a synthetic analysis of the groundwater thermality in the Upper Pannonian and the geothermal potential of the NW region of Romania, the article presents an analysis of the conversion of geothermal energy into electricity. This analysis was made in terms of the thermodynamic calculations necessary for the design of the geothermal power plants based on Kalina Thermodynamic Cycle, as well as from an experimental point of view, the influence of the external factors (the ambient temperature) on the quantity of electricity produced under the same conditions of flow and the temperature of the geothermal water was revealed.

Numerical Modeling of Electromagnetic Induction Heating Process Using an Inductor with Constant Step Between Turns

Mihaela Novac; Ovidiu Novac; Mircea Gordan; Cornelia Gordan

This paper presents a numerical modeling for an induction heating system with axial symmetry. Our induction heating system use cylindrical pieces and one particular property of the inductor is the constant step between the turns of coils. We use a simulation program that will give us a lot of information that are experimentaly inaccesible. To obtain a high precision numerical modeling we use a performant software (Flux2D).

Rational Using of Small Frontal Rigid Gear Couplings Type Gleason at Simple Direct and Differential Dividing and Geometrical Development of Smaller Size

Petru Ungur; Petru A. Pop; Mircea Gordan; Cornelia Gordan; Mircea Veres

This paper has presented two constructive solutions of rational using of frontal rigid gear couplings with spherical gear in circle arc type Gleason, knowing as curved frontal gear coupling, on small dimensions, ones for simple direct dividing and second for simple differential dividing, and geometrical development possibility of new family of frontal coupling and small size. The frontal gear coupling type Gleason are formed from two rings, one with concave gear and other with convex gear, being characterized by great twist moments of capacity transmission, realizing a precision angular position, fast central connection and assuring of optimal conditions for manufacturing of mass production and low cost. One new application of small frontal gear couplings was external diameter of O100mm and O120mm, assured a higher accuracy of angular location of ±2″ and a great carrying capacity for couplings by using of compound rest of lathe with ultra precision location. A second application has presented a new landing of simple direct and differential dividing using one or more pair of Gleason’s gear coupling due to construction of new indexing tables with ultra precision in metal cutting.Copyright
