This paper deals with the design of fuzzy tool for creating conceptual model under uncertainty. The paper identifies a problem in current approach of creating conceptual model of information system and suggests new methodics and tool for creating conceptual model, which can processes uncertain user requirements. The proposed tool uses a general model of the decision support system, that works with the vague input values and IF-THEN fuzzy rules, and creates a list of appropriate and acceptable solutions, and then allows to choose the best solution. In the proposed tool entities, attributes and relations between entitites in the resulting conceptual model are selected via a decision support system. In the paper we present six main parts of proposed tool, that generates suitable entities, attributes and relations between entities, then generates them to XML format and finally visualizes the resulting conceptual model. The created conceptual model illustrates the analysis of information system requirements. The proposed tool is shown on creating conceptual model of the hotel information system.

Abstract—The article deals with testing database against original requirements for its creation. Currently there are several tools for unit database testing, testing stored procedures and functions in database or performance and load testing of relational database. But there is no tool for testing logical model of the relational database against requirements for its creation. In the paper we propose a tool for testing logical model of the implemented database against original requirements for its creation. Proposed tool uses XML document for representation of the requiremensts and JDBC methods for loading logical model of the implemented database. Outputs of the proposed tool are tables with comparison of entities and tables, attributes and relationships. Finally, the tool generates possible database optimization proposals based on the tool ś outputs. At the end of the article proposed tool is shown on testing database of the university information system and possible optimization proposals for this database are suggested.

The paper deals with new processes in e-learning to achieve the most effective path through a course for each student. In order to achieve such an ideal path through an e-learning course (here a course of the English language), a new methodology has been developed and special components have been introduced, which enabled to create an individual study plan for each student individually. New components consist of two blocks. A block consisting in finding out student’s language knowledge and a block of sensory preferences. These blocks provided input values and information for creating a verification e-course. A great benefit is that the proposed methodology used existing possibilities of a conditional progress through a course while introducing the new components enabled to create individual study plans in an automated way. This comprehensive system has been verified on a sample set of students of the bachelor study program Applied Informatics at the Department of Informatics and Computers, Faculty of Science, University of Ostrava, in winter term 2014.

E-Iearning systems (distance learning systems) are a very important part of todays learning process. With courses in these systems it is possible to learn the studying material any time in a fun and interactive way. For the teacher or the creator of a system like these, feedback from the participants of the course is an essential and important part of teaching. Therefore, various types of satisfaction questionnaires, purpose of which is to record how the class was satisfied with this course, have developed. This paper proposes an expert system that evaluates each of the generated questionnaires and suggests important aspects and parts that should be improved in other courses. The expert system is verified on a concrete example. The verification results are presented at the end of this article.

The paper deals with an audit of operating systems. It demonstrates usage of expert systems for determining security level for an operating system component against computer threats. The role of this hierarchical network of expert systems is to process vague input information, which is used by an auditor to enhance the audit process. Another role is assessment of configuration parameters and security settings of an operating system as well as interpretation of the current security level for the operating system component. For demonstration purposes was as the component selected, the user account. By using this form of input and output information is an auditor able to determine the current security level of an operating system using his own language no matter how big expert of this problem domain he is. The real verification, i.e. real audit, was tested on the MS Windows platform with its configuration parameters and security settings. Expert systems were used to eliminate human security auditor during th...

Decision support systems mean interactive computer systems, which assist to decision making subjects to utilize both data and models to solve non-structured issues. These systems were established mainly on the basis of a risk analysis, utilizing the experience/skills, conclusion making and intuition, enabling very fast and flexible analysis with a good response, enabling the application of manager intuition and judgment this way. However, such decisions are often based on uncertain information. This fact requires the establishment of other decision support models.

This article deals with mandatory access controls and security policies within an operating system and proposes general methodology for selection and deployment of policies based on vague information, where these vague descriptions are representing operational, functional and security requirements imposed on the operating system. The proposed methodology is supported by an expert system, purpose of which (together with the methodology) is to minimize, or even completely eliminate, the need for a security consultant as an expert in the problem domain, who is usually needed in the process of designing of a secure operating system. Overall, the methodology tries to move this key responsibility to either the user or the administrator.

This paper describes the design of the tool for supporting decision making process in the object relational mapping. The paper describes the main differences between object and relational model and the current state of object relational mapping, which addresses the discrepancy between them. In the paper a fuzzy expert system based on information from the object model will be proposed. This expert system shall propose appropriate data types in a relational database and generate a relational schema, in which objects are mapped. The suggested tool is afterwards verified on a specific object model.

The paper deals with reconstructing the conceptual model from the implemented database. Sometimes the conceptual model of the implemented database is missing and is appropriate to reconstruct the conceptual model from the implemented database to understand the content of the database and for effective additional development or maintance. We propose algorithm for reconstruction the conceptual model from the implemented database using JDBC methods. Reconstructed conceptual model is represented by XML document and then is transformed to CDM file supported by CASE tool called Sybase PowerDesigner. Finally, reconstructed conceptual model imported to Sybase PowerDesigner can be used for vizualization, transformation to logical and physical model, and in other various ways. Proposed algorithm is verified on specific implemented database and the reconstructed conceptual model is shown in CASE tool Sybase PowerDesigner.
