Introduction: Visceral leishmaniasis is a parasitic disease of worldwide distribution, which due to its magnitude and spectrum is considered a public health problem. A current tool that allows its comprehensive study is the geoprocessing in health, once it allows elaborating epidemiological scenarios of the incidence/prevalence of the cases. Thus, it enables to guide actions and public health policies. Objective: To analyze geospatial human cases of visceral leishmaniasis in the state of Sergipe, Brazil, from 2010 to 2015. Material and Methods: We carried out an ecological, descriptive, and retrospective study, based on the data collected from human cases of visceral leishmaniasis in the state of Sergipe. Data was available in the Information System of Notification Diseases of the Ministry of Health, from 2010 to 2015. The software TerraView, version 4.2.2 was used to analyze spatial statistics with a significance level of 95%. The kernel density estimator was used on the confirmed cases of the disease. Results: Of the visceral leishmaniasis cases, 382 were confirmed in the state of Sergipe from 2010 to 2015. The spatial distribution of the cases showed a high concentration on the Sergipe State coast with a higher frequency and incidence rate in the city of Aracaju. There were clusters with positive spatial autocorrelation among municipalities, revealing similar epidemiological findings. Conclusion: Spatial analysis allowed us to delineate the epidemiological scenario of human cases of visceral leishmaniasis in the state of Sergipe from 2010 to 2015. These findings may be effective for use in case surveillance, health professionals and managers, as well as to guide another research. Introduction: Traffic accidents are a public health problem. Victims may acquire permanent or temporary morbidities, and the Mobile Emergency Care Service has become an essential mechanism to minimize injury to victims. Objective: Describe the profile and factors associated with trauma in victims of traffic accidents attended by a Mobile Emergency Service, located within the municipality of Aracaju, State of Sergipe. Material and Methods: Cross-sectional, retrospective, and descriptive study performed at a Mobile Emergency Care Service located in the city of Aracaju, Sergipe. The University Tiradentes Research Ethics Committee approved the study under opinion No. 100811. The sample consisted of 453 occurrences related to victims of traffic accidents. Data collection was carried out accessing the event bulletins. Data were stored in electronic spreadsheets using the software EpiInfoTM 7, and analyzed using the software BioEstat 5.0. Results: Data analysis revealed that the victims were young male adults; motorcycle crashes and motorcycle collisions were the main type of accident, and weekends were the most frequent occurring period. The nature of the lesions, for the most part, was bruises, short blunt injuries, and closed fractures. The most affected regions of the body were the upper and lower limbs, and the head. The factors associated with traffic accidents were male gender, alcohol consumption, and the absence of personal protective equipment. Conclusion: The study pointed out the profile of the victims of trauma due to traffic accidents attended by the Emergency Mobile Service, as well as their associated factors. The findings can be useful to professionals, managers, and researchers in the construction of the knowledge related to this scope and in guiding of actions and public health policies. Descriptors: External Causes; Accidents, Traffic; Wounds and Injuries.
