The dissertation presents the method of controlling the designed scanning and tracking head (optical target seeker) [ which is used for detecting and tracking air targets emitting their own radiation, e.g. infrared radiation. The control algorithm consists in using the phase trajectories of control deviations. Digital simulations of the proposed solution have been conducted. The results of those simulations have been presented in a graphical form.

This paper presents the results of research on control of a designed target seeker (Gapinski, D. 2008), which was carried out using of the so-called “signum” function. The technical feasibility of controlling the seeker axis in the phase of searching the air space with the simultaneous consideration of the process of scanning through the optoelectronic system of the head was verified. The numerical analysis of the device dynamics was presented and the analysis of the possibility of practical application previously mentioned method for the control of the designed seeker was conducted. The results are presented in a graphical form as well.

The paper presents a dynamic model of hypothetical missile-artillery system mounted on a moving object (e.g. mobile platform or warship). Model inputs are driving torques for the azimuth and elevation angle, and the angular and linear displacements of the set base relative to the given stationary coordinate system. The output of the model is the resulting position of the line of sight relative to the mentioned stationary coordinate system. The effect of disturbances (motion) from the moving object was studied and the reverse dynamic analysis of the presented system under the influence of the disturbances was performed. This has been investigated to check if the set’s drive systems will be able to work out the required torque in time to maintain the desired line of sight. Simulations were made using the SciLab environment. Some results of numerical simulation tests was presented in graphical form.

The paper presents elements of an analysis of reachability areas of manoeuvring air targets achieved by maritime missile-artillery system ZU-23-2MRE. A concept of a modified algorithm of missiles homing of such system is presented. On the basis of tactical and technical data concerning armament of the above-mentioned system and taking into account extremely unfavourable flight parameters of the tracked target, the starting zone and the zone of destruction possible to technical implementation for particular air-defence fire unit were.
