Abstract A real system of environmental protection did not exist up until now, but for a gathering of more or less autonomous and mutually nonharmonized department systems — politics of particular areas. Just after the “Introduction (Law) of Environment Protection in Serbia,” this problem has been approached systematically, and state quality and environment managing has been established and done within the framework of a unique information system. In this way, a legal system base has been set, but its realisation demands the establishment of operative instruments and mechanisms.

ABSTRACT Our study analyses the effects of wind farm investments on sustainable development in Serbia after the political changes in 2000. With the purpose of creating the conditions for the inflow of renewable energy investments, the institutional and legal frameworks, as well as energetic and economic reforms, were initiated after 2000. The new laws and strategy were the impetus for the promotion of utilization of and investing in renewable energy sources (RES) in Serbia. The new Law on Energy (2011) defines an action plan for the utilization of RES and systematically regulates the position of electricity producers in Serbia. Hence, the energy legislative framework harmonized with the European Union, as well as the new economic conditions in Serbia, was finally defined. It was an opportunity for foreign direct investment in the RES sector.

Developed transport network is a precondition for economic and tourism development of areas and largely follows and allows the development of human activities. If it is developing without plan, spontaneous and without coordination it may be a limit to the overall development. The aim of research was to define developmental basis for the revitalization, improvement and construction of transport infrastructure in the municipality of Negotin. The paper will present the mutual interaction and functional connectivity of planning solutions for development of transport infrastructure and development of economic and tourism, as well as the impact which planning solutions have on the evolvent of other spatial and city functions. Researches of existing environmental state represent the basis of the researches for the needs of planning new activities or increasing existing activities in space, but also the basis for population’s health research and protection and maintains of areas with important natural and cultural-historic values. Investigations of air pollution and air quality fall into group of basic activities during describing and evaluating the total environmental state in certain area. This paper identifies the main sources of air pollution in the municipality of Loznica and, according to results of measured values of air pollutants (emission and imission values), concludes about air quality. It also proposes in the end mitigation measures for improvement of the air quality, and therefore of entire environment.
