Enterprise architecture management is the basis of systemic enterprise transformations and information technology architecture development. Nowadays enterprise architecting is almost synonymous to diagramming. Diagrams are effective for knowledge elicitation, structuring, and dissemination. But as the number of diagrams and their types grows, they overlap and evolve, it becomes hard to maintain a collection of interrelated diagrams, even with the help of a common repository. Besides the very nature of enterprise architecting requires a lot of classifications (e.g. process architecture/classification) and matrices (goals - processes, processes - organizational roles, processes - applications…). The ORG-Master tool combines classifications and matrices with traditional diagram-based technologies.

Nowadays enterprise architecting and business process engineering are almost synonymous to diagramming. Diagrams have many benefits and are sufficient for many situations. But as the number of diagrams and their types grows, they overlap and evolve, then it becomes hard to maintain a collection of interrelated diagrams, even with the help of a common repository. Besides the very nature of enterprise architecting requires a lot of matrices (goals-processes, capabilities-processes, processes - applications). The paper presents the multi-representation approach for enterprise architecture model development and maintenance. Classifications and matrices are the basis of this approach and support knowledge structuring and integration. The ORG-Master tool joins classifications and matrices with traditional diagram-based technologies. The paper pays special attention to the role of classifications and matrices in integrating business processes into enterprise architecture.

Functional decomposition is the primary component of enterprise activities description and is often associated with business process architecture. It guides any business improvement initiative, enables to design the enterprise construction -- organizational structure, IT- and HR-architectures, etc, as well as to deploy goals and strategies. The paper suggests the framework for enterprise functional decomposition, which includes the ontology for enterprise activities description, foundations and the process of functional decomposition. The suggested framework integrates the following features: alignment with goals decomposition, support for reference models and other reusable activities descriptions, recursive decomposition using a single activities pattern, value-based management and ISO 9004:2009 harmonization. The paper also describes framework implementation at Russian enterprises and IT tool to support the approach.

Enterprise architecture allows one to describe, analyze and design a company from the point of view of its structure, functioning and goals. Both business and IT components of an organization are considered in it. Enterprise architecture management methods and technologies help companies to implement their digital strategy, establish enterprise coherence and coordinate business transformation. Teaching enterprise architecture in universities is a difficult task because of the interdisciplinary nature of the subject, its generalized character and close connection with practical experience. In addition, modern enterprise architecture management methodologies are difficult for students and contain many details that are relevant to specific situations. Although there are several methodologies and approaches for enterprise architecture teaching, they do not reflect a recent change in application scenarios for enterprise architecture – shift from business-IT alignment to enterprise coherence and business transformation coordination. The work offers a simplified methodology of enterprise architecture management, which on the one hand will be available for students’ comprehension, and, on the other hand, will allow students to understand and apply in practice the main methods and technologies of enterprise architecture. Requirements for the methodology are also collected and presented in the paper. The proposed methodology is used in several universities and demonstration of its application within the business school of one university is provided.

The goal of this research is to investigate the process of customer knowledge capturing, specifically knowledge coming from customers. We identified and classified tools and methods of capturing knowledge from customers. Both general tools from knowledge management and specialized ones from marketing research were considered. Besides, we aligned these tools and methods with the contextual factors using case studies from electrotechnical and software development industries, thus, the corresponding decision tree was suggested.

The INNOVARRA project is focused on the research and development of new models and methods of knowledge management in the enterprises. The project aims to identify and develop knowledge management methods and tools, which are the most appropriate for particular knowledge type and domain of any company, as well as have the greatest impact on the final results of Russian companies. Special attention is paid to the knowledge typology development, which helps to differentiate and select knowledge management tools and methods. Research methodology is interdisciplinary and includes both the behaviourist methods of empirical studies (surveys, statistical analysis) and design-oriented methods such as ontology engineering, system analysis and enterprise architecture management.
