Z. I. Tyumaseva; E. V. Guskova

The article gives an annotated list of Vespidae (Hymenoptera, Vespidae) from the urbanized territories of Chelyabinsk region, including 13 species belonging to 4 genera ( Vespula, Polistes, Dolichovespula and Vespa ) and 2 subfamilies (Vespinae and Polistinae).

Seasonal Fluctuations of the Numbers of leaf beetles of the subfamily Alticinae (Coleoptera, Chrysomelidae) in lowland steppe of Tigireksky strict nature Reserve (Northern-Western Altai, Russia)

T. M. Krugova; E. V. Guskova

Seasonal fluctuations of the numbers of leaf beetles of the subfamily Alticinae (Coleoptera, Chrysomelidae) in lowland steppe of Tigirekskiy reserve in 2012 was studied in stipa and in meadow steppe. The maximal species diversity was noted in the beginning - in the middle of summer. The dominant species is Longitarsus luridus (Scopoli, 1763) with the peak of activity in the end of summer.

Biotopic distribution of Lady Beetles (Сoleoptera, Сoccinellidae) in the central part of Western Siberia (Russia)

Z. I. Tyumaseva; E. V. Guskova

The species diversity of Coccinellidae in the central part of Western Siberia is represented by 36 species belonging to 6 tribes and 22 genera. The peculiarities of Coccinellidae distribution into 12 biotopes is caused by the relief uniqueness, floral richness and anthropogenic influence. In forest formations, the species composition of Coccinellidae in mixed, pine-spruce-birch and pine-birch forests is the most abundant, with 23, 19, and 15 species of lady beetles, respectively.

Parasites, predators and diseases of Lady Beetles (Coleoptera, Coccinellidae) of the Southern Urals and adjacent territories

Z. I. Tyumaseva; E. V. Guskova

The article gives a review of the Coccinellidae natural enemies (birds, amphibians, insects, mites, fungi, nematodes). Groups of animals that can influence the Coccinellidae population dynamics are identified. The stomachs of frogs Pelophylax ridibundus (Pallas, 1771), Rana temporaria Linnaeus, 1758, Rana arvalis Nilsson, 1842, Rana amurensis Boulenger, 1886, Pelobates fuscus (Laurenti, 1768) have been examined; the occurrence of various Coccinellidae species in the stomachs is evaluated.

Features of the aggregate way of life and its importance in leaf beetles larvae (Coleoptera, Chrysomelidae) development

E. V. Guskova; Z. I. Tyumaseva

The article describes the importance of the aggregate way of life of leaf beetles’ larvae G. viminalis (Linnaeus, 1758) in the laboratory conditions. The obtained data prove that the aggregate way of life of G. viminalis larvae has a significant impact on the intensity of their feeding, growth and development. It is concluded that such coexistence of larvae allows them to build a defense strategy, ensuring survival in groups at early stages of development.

Bumblebee fauna (Hymenoptera, Apidae: Bombus Latreille) of Chelyabinsk region (Russia)

Z. I. Tyumaseva; E. V. Guskova

The annotated list of 36 species of bumblebees of Chelyabinsk region is presented. Ten species are newly recorded for this region: Bombus ruderarius (Muller, 1776); B. campestris (Panzer, 1801); B. bohemicus Seidl, 1837; B. barbutellus (Kirby, 1802) ; B. quadricolor (Lepeletier, 1832) ; B. sylvestris (Lepeletier, 1832); B. rupestris (Fabricius, 1793); B. patagiatus Nylander, 1848 ; B. semenoviellus Skorikov, 1910; B. lapidarius (Linnaeus, 1758) . The features of bumblebees’ distribution in the region and their ecological peculiarities are considered.

E. A. Nepaeva; E. V. Guskova; T. M. Krugova

The annotated list of 26 species and 16 genera of Coccinellidae from the Tigirek strict nature reserve is presented. Fifteen species are newly recorded for this region: Scymnus frontalis (Fabricius, 1787); Hyperaspis reppensis (Herbst, 1783); Hyperaspis erythrocephala (Fabricius, 1787); Exochomus quadripustulatus (Linnaeus, 1758); Coccinula sinuatomarginata (Faldermann, 1837); Tytthaspis sedecimpunctata (Linnaeus, 1761); Tytthaspis gebleri (Mulsant, 1850); Myzia gebleri (Crotch, 1874); Propylea quatuordecimpunctata (Linnaeus, 1758); Calvia decemguttata (Linnaeus, 1767); Hippodamia (Hemisphaerica) tredecimpunctata (Linnaeus, 1758); Ceratomegilla undecimnotata (D.H. Schneider, 1792); Coccinella magnificaL. Redtenbacher, 1843; Coccinella nivicola Mulsant, 1850, and Anatisocellata (Linnaeus, 1758). Two species, Coccinula sinuatomarginata (Faldermann, 1837) and Tytthaspis sedecimpunctata (Linnaeus, 1761), are new records for West Siberia.

Roman V. Yakovlev; A. V. Matsyura; E. V. Guskova

The article provides a brief overview of modern forensic entomology and a comparative analysis of the world research activity in this area. We actualized the urgent need for the systematic work in the field of forensic entomology in the Russian Federation.
