Indicadores de desempeño: naturaleza, utilidad y construcción

Los indicadores de desempeno han adquirido trascendencia a partir del establecimiento de la filosofia de gestion de calidad total. Constituyen importantes herramientas de gestion que proveen un valor de referencia a partir del cual se pueden realizar mediciones. En el presente trabajo se analizan los distintos puntos de vista existentes en relacion a su naturaleza y utilidad. Se discute el caracter objetivo-subjetivo de los indicadores de desempeno y se puntualiza la diferencia con las estadisticas. Se analiza tambien a este tipo de indicadores como una herramienta util en el proceso de evaluacion y se revisa su metodologia de construccion.

Las categorías o facetas fundamentales: una metodología para el diseño de taxonomías corporativas de sitios Web argentinos

Faceted analysis has been reassessed in last years for designing corporative taxonomies. In order to confirm its usefulness, we analyzed the Web sites of different Argentine organizations: three wineries, three food industries, six football clubs, five professional associations, three university schools, and five government agencies. From the 16 fundamental categories or facets proposed by the Classification Research Group, wineries coincide in 13 (81%), food industries in 11 (68%), football clubs in 7 (43%), professional associations in 5 (31%), university schools in 8 (50%), and government agencies in 9 (56%). These differences are due to the fact that not all the categories are necessary for all organizations. We conclude that the method of faceted analysis is useful for designing corporative taxonomies and for optimizing Web sites, in accordance to particular characteristics of each organization.

Internal Quality Audit of Indexing: A New Application of Interindexer Consistency

ABSTRACT This article describes a methodology that combines interindexer consistency with a method for an internal quality audit, based on a control chart usually employed in technological and industrial organizations. The methodology shows the consistency and variation of a given group of indexers, reflecting the degree of conformity to indexing standards and procedures. It also facilitates the identification of variation causes, and the application to training and corrective actions, leading to a continuous improvement of the process. It is practical and produces reliable, appropriate, and comparable data.

Taxonomías web de clubes de fútbol argentinos

Se analizaron las taxonomias web navegacionales de clubes de futbol argentinos, con el proposito de identificar sus taxones y las categorias subyacentes, asi como elaborar una taxonomia comun, basada en las categorias fundamentales recomendadas por el Classification Research Group, para comparar las taxonomias analizadas y comprobar si pueden ser desarrolladas mediante el metodo del analisis por facetas. El analisis de los taxones muestra una tendencia a usar terminos en ingles y nombres propios o especificos relacionados con aspectos emocionales e identificatorios de cada club, que puede requerir cambios en la aplicacion tradicional de las normas de control de vocabulario. El uso de las categorias fundamentales permitiria un analisis mas exhaustivo de la informacion a colocar en el sitio web y un mejor diseno de la taxonomia, siendo una herramienta util para el bibliotecario interesado en este tipo de recurso. Web taxonomies of Argentinean soccer clubs Abstract The navigable taxonomies web of Argentinean soccer clubs have been analyzed for the purpose of identifying their taxonomies and inherent categories, as well as elaborating a common taxonomy, based on fundamental categories recommended by Classification Research Group, in order to compare the taxonomies analyzed and demonstrate whether they can be developed by a method of facet analysis. The analysis of taxonomic elements show a tendency to use English terms and proper names or specific terms related to emotional and identifying aspects of the norms of vocabulary control. The use of fundamental categories will allow a more exhaustive analysis of information to be put in the web site and a better design of taxonomy, which is a useful tool for the librarian interested in this type of resource.
