Gruppklimat: Studier av upplevt gruppklimat i olika typer av grupper med hjälp av en adjektivlista

This research is a presentation of the dimensionality of individuals’ construction of experienced group climate. The construction and testing of a new selfrating instrument for group diagnosis is described. This instrument is called Group climate and consists of 85 adjectives which may or may not be underlined according to their suiting the individual’s experience of the specific group climate. After factor analysis five different factors were identified: Solidarity, Disconnection, Conflict avoidance, Structure/control and Negativism. It may be assumed that there is a common dimensionality in the construction of the group climate by the group members. We also found different typical group climate patterns according to these factors. Groups in different contexts and in different developmental stages show meaningful differences in climate pattern.

The relation between MNT-dimensions and certain cognitive and psychomotor variables

-The three personality dimensions (validity, stability and solidity) of the Sjijbring personality theory, as measured by a questionnaire, were related to various cognitive and psychomotor variables, e.g. verbal fluency, reaction time. The test performance was scored with regard to three aspects: a ) the level of achievement; b) the change in achievement during different time intervals (serial analysis) ; c) accuracy of achievement. Of the hypotheses formulated on the basis of the personality theory and earlier empirical results, one was clearly confirmed here, viz. solidity correlating negatively with different measures of speed and fluency.
