Radiant Microwave Filter for Telecommunications using High Qu Dielectric Resonator

H. Blondeaux; Dominique Baillargeat; S. Verdeyme; P. Guillon; A. Carlier; Y. Cailloce; Eric Rogeaux

A dielectric resonator device is proposed for high-speed data communication systems. The structure is composed of a partially metallized dielectric plate enclosed in a parallelepipedic cavity. This topology allows a high integration in a planar environment type. This structure, easily manufactured, is suitable for high frequencies filtering and powers applications. In order to realize some radiant n-pole filters without tuning, an opened two-pole filter using two superposed cavities coupled by a metallic iris is presented. Its filtering and radiation functions are optimized in the same time to present some required electrical performances.

A Full GaAs MMIC Phase-Locked Oscillator Using Sampling Phase Detector and a Sampling Frequency Detector.

Pascal Lefèvre; Nathalie Haese; Gregory Lewandowski; Christophe Loyez; Paul-Alain Rolland; Eric Rogeaux; Jean-Claude Sarkissian

Wireless communication systems, at millimeter wavelength, require the use of low phase noise oscillator in order to reach high communication data rates. This paper presents an original method to realise a low noise MMIC frequency synthesiser, using sampling phase detector and sampling frequency detector in K band1.

Standard MMICs for space application: A broadband high resolution phase-shifter

Eric Rogeaux; V. Grognet; Jean-Louis Cazaux; F. Coppel; M. Geen; G. Gatti

A wide band phase shifter (2.1-6.4 GHz) has been made in the framework of a European program for development of standard MMICs. It makes use of eight switchable cells providing high resolution regardless of process variations and with a large choice in the phase states selection. It is implemented on two separate chips (for better flexibility) and has demonstrated, with a 7 bits control, less than 1 RMS error, a ± 0.9dB amplitude variation and an I/O VSWAR always better than -11dB at the lowest frequency.
