Although sound is a very common phenomenon, its understanding is not at all easy. The technological advance and economic growth increase the use of mechanical equipment resulting proportionally in the rise of the noise level in the working and living environment. Therefore, it is necessary to focus particular attention on the issue of noise in the teaching process at higher education institutions. The paper presents application of one of the most modern technological tools for localization and more detailed identification of the sources of noise - the Microflown system.

Dynamic noise visualization represents ideal tool for clear and concise presentation of events not recordable with human eye and its implementation into educational process. Visualization is the right tool for students, that allows them to easily and effectively understand complex issues. This process of implementation is granted by modern instrumentation in conjunction with information technology. The „acoustic camera“ is a measurement tool which joined the field of acoustics a few years ago. This technology analyses the actual sound scene, which consists of a superposition of different sound sources, into a visual sound map. The basic principle relies on accurate calculation of the specific runtime delays of acoustic sound emissions radiating from several sources to the individual microphones of an array. An acoustic map of the local sound pressure distribution at a given distance will be calculated using the acoustic data of all simultaneously recorded microphone channels

In terms of design and material composition, cars are the large set of diverse materials and raw materials. The relative proportion of materials varies along with the development and innovation of new types of cars. The most represented material is metal. On average, outdated cars feature about 8% of plastic and approximately 4% of rubber products. The problem is the further use of these recycled materials. The research has found new areas for the use of tires, waste foam and interior materials—noise reduction. The authors have designed and tested several variations of acoustic absorption materials. Of the tested materials, the best parameters were shown by “ecofoam”—almost across the entire frequency range (100–5000 Hz).

Sound and noise are as old as humanity itself. They have accompanied civilization, evolution, and development for centuries. Music and speech represent not only the key elements of human life but also unpleasant feelings of noise that have always been an integral part of human existence. As industrial development has required more energy, powerful machinery, and equipment, there have been still noisier machines. Traffic has grown quickly due to the number and speed of vehicles. For that reason, an acoustic camera is used for the dynamic visualization of machinery and equipment noise as it analyses the sources of noise in details. Subsequently, qualified measures are introduced based on the results of the analysis. The paper considers launching another application. According to the proposed methodology, its use in identifying machinery and equipment failures and their maintenance is proved. The experiment was performed on a four-wheel lawn mower. The primary focus was on the identification of failures using an acoustic camera. The previous method allowed to quickly, precisely and efficiently identifying the failures in two out of five tested machines.

In the last decades, there is rising importance of standardisation in the field of systems of environmental management, auditing, environmental labelling, evaluation of environmental performance and life cycle of the product, environmental communication, and integration of environmental aspects into product design and development, and greenhouse gas emissions. Sustainable development which meets the basic present requirements without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own personal requirements. It also includes investment in general infrastructures and social services along with necessary regulatory, technical and financial tools, all of them contribute to enriching the living standard of the local population whereas Innovation is the successful production, integration and exploitation of novelty in the socio-economic and environmental spheres. The implementation of voluntary instruments of environmental policy should be given support in the area of information and educational tools, i.e. pro-environmentally oriented edification, education and training. In this study the researcher is intended to identify various challenges and opportunities evolved in context to develop a sustainable environment. For this purpose, researcher will conduct an empirical study with the help of a questionnaire and will further extract data on secondary basis.

Noise is a physical environmental factor that may be unpleasant, intrusive and sometimes even harmful. The most common source of noise in the environment is traffic. Noise emissions caused by traffic are highly dependent on the properties and characteristics of the road surface, especially its structure and porosity. Both of these properties influence rolling noise connected with the movement of tires on the road. Moreover, the porosity of the road may affect sound propagation especially near the surface. The article is the outcome of the case study which evaluated the level of noise emissions of the old road before and after its renovation.

Organizations currently use whole range of environmental management tools. All the tools used by environmental policy arose from the voluntary internal initiatives of business entities and organizations. Today, these tools affect production of products and their market position in a complex way. Theoretical background of various environmental management tools is contained in the relevant standards and regulations. However, their practical use in solving particular situation is difficult. That is why we at our seminars on environmental management systems strive to lead students to apply various commonly used tools into practice. The following article is an example of this effort. The article tackles evaluation processes of the strategic profile of organizations with respect to the environmental aspects within the teaching process.

This article offers guidance on exercise, how in the learning process apply multi-criteria method in the evaluation of the product. Mentioned method is applied using the developed software product that works in the system environment Microsoft Excel. By the selected products analysis student receives fair values which are necessary for a comprehensive evaluation of environmental standards based on criteria coming out of multi-objective method algorithm. Within the article we can find guidance how to evaluate the technical or environmental quality of different types of cars using software in teaching.

Mining of raw materials is an essential part of the economy for most countries. Industry is often directly dependent on raw materials, its structure is formed just by available mineral wealth of a particular country. However, there are raw materials available in every country and from economic reasons their import is not economical. These are deposits of building stone that is used mainly in construction. However, mining of this raw material has very significant influence on the environment. These effects need to be addressed not only in the time and place of their origin, but it is necessary to prepare professionals for solving problems in this area. For this reason, the article provides the methodology of implementation the issues of spreading the solid particles in the external environment into the teaching process. Listeners will gain the knowledge of solving this issue and verify it on real examples from practice.

Application of the information technologies in the education process is nowadays unthinkable part of the high quality education. In the paper provided is the possibility of the application of the comparative analysis method for the evaluation of the environmental level of the products as the designing tool with regard to the environmental aspects of the product. As this method ranges among the non-software tools, with the objective to simplify the calculation and minimise the possible problems related to the manual calculations, which follow out from the comparative analysis method, proposed was its software application. This application significantly simplified the process of the calculation and enabled the following generation of the results in the graphic form as well. It also enables the students to evaluate the recent condition of the product and subsequently realise the proposals of the solutions to minimise the environmental impacts operatively.
