Sustainability has increasingly become important for Higher Education Institutions (HEIs). A number of researches have acknowledged the HEIs transformation towards sustainable campus. However, there is a lack of research contribution focused on alignment process between sustainability and information system (IS) strategies. This research issue inhibits achievement of sustainability objectives and values. In this study, therefore, the authors propose a sustainability transformation framework, which involves alignment process between sustainability and IS strategies, for sustainability transformation. The authors engage three phases to gain the objective of this study. These phases include problem definition, define objectives of a solution, and framework development. The proposed framework provides a sequential and rigorous approach to effectively transforming HEIs towards sustainable campus. However, there is a need of future works to validate and assess the applicability of the framework in HEIs.

The Malaysian small to medium enterprises (SMEs) market has big influences in the business world which is becoming more competitive. Therefore, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) as a functional unit integrated system is needed to streamline the business processes to achieve greater work efficiency. However, an in depth understanding about ERP system is needed to ensure the successful system implementation. This paper seeks to explore the challenges of ERP system implementation in order to deepen the knowledge on ERP system implementation in SMEs. The research method is based on a single-case design within Malaysian SME to obtain a process model of ERP system implementation adoption by SMEs. The conceptual framework for ERP system implementation, which was validated by a number of SMEs in Malaysia, is proposed in order to attempt the minimize ERP project failure in SMEs.

Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system is an advanced manufacturing system that enables the integration of transactions-oriented data and business functions throughout an enterprise. ERP system holds the potential of greatly enhancing organizational performance and establishing competitive advantage. ERP project team can reduce their implementation costs by having a well thought out ERP implementation process. This research examines the ERP implementation process from the project management based perspective. The theoretical framework is developed to specify the ERP implementation process, which is categorized into five phases in project life cycle: initiating, planning, executing, controlling and closing. The research adopts the iterative triangulation as a methodology to establish this study, and one large company in Iran has been chosen by researchers to examine the proposed framework.

Last few decades showed a progressive development towards online businesses in Pakistan that resulted electronic commerce (e-commerce) a recipient of some challenges on entirely new level. Issues related to inventories shown by e-commerce websites include lie about inventory for stock availability acts as the most critical aspect of online shopping. Its impact on customer’s shopping behavior is the emerging challenge which has been overlooked in past. Therefore, this research has focused to investigate the interplay of online shop’s inventory related issues such as lie about inventory on online shopping behaviors in Pakistan. In order to achieve the research objectives, survey is conducted through questionnaire. It is noticeably observed from results that there is a strong correlation found between online shop’s inventory issues with shopping behaviors. According to the findings, it is notified that due to higher rate of inventory issues there is an extensive decline is noticed in online shopping behavior. This study can benefit industry to have valuable insights to avoid negative customer experiences and to improve the inventory related issues in order to boost up online buying behaviors in Pakistan.

In global software development (GSD), teams from different geographies are involved in software development activities from requirement till management phase. There are many potential benefits associated with GSD environment such as development cost, round the clock development, accessibility to better skilled people and many others. Although, organizations are achieving the benefits of GSD but its challenging nature such as cultural and language differences, trust relationship, coordination and communication is introducing numerous challenges that cannot be ignored. These challenges are significantly influencing requirement engineering (RE) process in GSD. One of the reasons behind challenging nature of RE in GSD is varying situational contexts such as social, communication and cultural contexts, language, human, technical and management related contexts. This necessitate for a comprehensive framework that demonstrates the perspective of situational contexts. This study aims to review the existing situational RE frameworks, highlights the reported situational contexts and provide future research directions. The literature revealed that the situational contexts are commonly related to twelve categories that include stakeholders, organization, requirements, project, management, risk, culture, standard, task, communication, technique and methods, and innovation. The situational contexts related to these categories show the main standpoint of situational software development in GSD. These situational contexts are significant for improving competencies of the team members while performing RE process in GSD environment. This study also draws attention towards some imperative research directions for further studies in line of situational software engineering.
