Sustainability has increasingly become important for Higher Education Institutions (HEIs). A number of researches have acknowledged the HEIs transformation towards sustainable campus. However, there is a lack of research contribution focused on alignment process between sustainability and information system (IS) strategies. This research issue inhibits achievement of sustainability objectives and values. In this study, therefore, the authors propose a sustainability transformation framework, which involves alignment process between sustainability and IS strategies, for sustainability transformation. The authors engage three phases to gain the objective of this study. These phases include problem definition, define objectives of a solution, and framework development. The proposed framework provides a sequential and rigorous approach to effectively transforming HEIs towards sustainable campus. However, there is a need of future works to validate and assess the applicability of the framework in HEIs.

This paper describes on the technology of systems integration that allows users to connect and use two or more software at the same time. This technology will facilitate the method and processes involved in the development and presentation of the new system in order for the system to give a better performance. The objective of this study is to integrate CAD system and MySQL database using AutoCAD, SQL and Java. The integration is implemented by developing and visualizing the design of the Block G and H, FTSM (Fakulti Teknologi dan Sains Maklumat) using AutoCAD with related information that are stored in MySQL database. The integration enables the visualization of buildings and on the same time, the related information can be accessed and displayed. Information related to the visualized buildings such as rooms, laboratories, the name of lecturers and staffs as well as email and phone numbers are being assigned to the database. The integration between CAD systems have been developed using MySQL and Java connector. This integrated system enables users to explore the visualization of block G and H with relevant details that emerged from the database at the same time. From this paper, it can be concluded that AutoCAD has been successfully integrated with MySQL and Java.

Manufacturability analysis systems (MASs) have been developed to ensure that the ‘ready for manufacture’ designs are exempted from repetitive iterations occurring at the interface between design and manufacturing activities when the sequential approach of the product development lifecycle is taken into account. The feature analysis approach is one of the methods used to gather information from the proposed design for manufacturability assessment purposes. The objective of this paper is to explore the development of a MAS for micro-milling process run on a custom-built 4-axis Miniature Machine Tool (MMT). In the introduction to this paper, the definition, methodology and importance of MAS are discussed along with their relations to feature analysis. In this paper, the Primitive Feature Analysis (PFA) approach is being implemented in collecting data from the CAD model and further to analysis their manufacturability. Next, the development of the MAS is discussed where the analysis which is supported by a database containing rules and constraints that are specific to micro-milling process in MMT; these account for primitive features orientations/interactions as well as machining conditions and workpiece materials. The new MAS is able to illustrate the analysis of the PFA approach and it provides outputs such as redesign suggestions and manufacturability indices. Finally, the paper discusses the advantages and possible limitations of the developed MAS followed by suggestions for future developments.
