Influencia de la presencia de sofocos durante la menopausia sobre el metabolismo del óxido nítrico. Efecto del tratamiento hormonal sustitutivo

Fundamento Determinar si la presencia de sofocos durante la menopausia se asocia a alteracionesen el metabolismo del oxido nitrico, actividad antioxidante total y otros parametros bioquimicos.Determinar el efecto del tratamiento hormonal sustitutivo (THS) sobre el metabolismodel oxido nitrico, actividad antioxidante total y otros parametros bioquimicos en mujeres menopausicascon sofocos y sin ellos. Pacientes y metodos Estudio experimental que incluye 29 mujeres menopausicas con sofocos(se les aplico THS a 12) y 20 sin sofocos (se les aplico THS a 6), sanas, de 45 a 55 anos deedad, con un periodo de menopausia de entre uno y 5 anos. Grupo control formado por 14 mujeresen edad fertil. Determinacion de estradiol, nitritos-nitratos, actividad antioxidante total yparametros generales, antes y 4-6 meses despues del THS. Resultados Previamente al THS la presencia de sofocos se asocio a un menor nivel de actividadantioxidante total (p Conclusiones La presencia de sofocos durante la menopausia indica un mayor grado de estresoxidativo y por tanto un mayor riesgo cardiovascular. El THS disminuye el grado de estres oxidativoy aumenta los metabolitos derivados del oxido nitrico en las mujeres menopausicas cono sin sofocos.

Adding semantics to cloud computing to enhance service discovery and access

Cloud computing is a technological paradigm that permits to offer computing services over the Internet. This new service model is closely related to previous, well-known distributed computing initiatives such as Web services and grid computing. In the current socioeconomic climate, the affordability of cloud computing has gained it popularity among todays innovations. Under these circumstances, more and more cloud services become available. Consequently, it is becoming more and more difficult for service consumers to find and access those cloud services that fulfill their requirements. In this work, a cloud computing ontology is proposed that facilitates a semantic identification, discovery and access to the services in the cloud. Moreover, a tool that (semi-) automatically annotates cloud services and stores their semantic description is introduced.

Efecto del tratamiento hormonal sustitutivo sobre la reactividad ante el estrés en mujeres menopáusicas con y sin sofocos

Fundamento Determinar si la presencia de sofocosdurante la menopausia se asocia o no aalteraciones en la respuesta cardiovascularante el estres. Determinar el efecto del tratamientohormonal sustitutivo (THS) sobre larespuesta cardiovascular. Pacientes y metodo Estudio experimental realizadoen 28 mujeres menopausicas con sofocos(se aplica THS a 12 de ellas) y 20 sin sofocos(se aplica THS a 6). Se determinaron la presionarterial sistolica y diastolica, frecuencia cardiaca,porcentaje de reduccion de volumen depulso periferico, nivel de conductancia de lapiel y frecuencia de respuestas inespecificascutaneas, antes y 4-6 meses despues del THS. Resultados Las mujeres menopausicas quepresentaron sofocos tuvieron la mayor actividadelectrodermica ante el estres. El THS disminuyola reactividad fisiologica ante el estresen las mujeres menopausicas y especialmentela reactividad ante las pruebas estresoras. Conclusiones La presencia de sofocos durantela menopausia indica un mayor nivel de reactividadcardiovascular ante las situaciones deestres y, por tanto, un mayor riesgo cardiovascular.

An Approach for Ontology Building from Text Supported by NLP Techniques

In this work, we present an approach to simplify Knowledge Acquisition Processes (KAPs) by means of extracting knowledge directly from natural language texts. The ultimate goal is to acquire knowledge straight from experts’ language. This approach uses a morphologic analyzer to improve the setting-in-a-context between knowledge elements (e.g., concepts and attributes). Another objective is achieving language independency. Here, the knowledge acquired from texts is represented by means of ontologies.

Semantically-enhanced advertisement recommender systems in social networks

Providing recommendations on social systems has been in the spotlight of both academics and industry for some time already. Social network giants like Facebook, LinkedIn, Myspace, etc., are eager to find the silver bullet of recommendation. These applications permit clients to shape a few certain social networks through their day-by-day social cooperative communications. In the meantime, todays online experience depends progressively on social association. One of the main concerns in social network is establishing a successful business plan to make more profit from the social network. Doing a business on every platform needs a good business plan with some important solutions such as advertise the products or services of other companies which would be a kind of marketing for those external businesses. In this study a philosophy of a system speaking to of a comprehensive structure of advertisement recommender system for social networks will be presented. The framework uses a semantic logic to provide the recommended products and this capability can differentiate the recommender part of the framework from classical recommender methods. Briefly, the framework proposed in this study has been designed in a form that can generate advertisement recommendations in a simplified and effective way for social network users.
