La influencia de los factores topoclimáticos en la organización geográfica de los sabinares de Anaga (Tenerife, Islas Canarias)

This paper studies the effects of topoclimatic factors on the two best preserved examples of thermophilous vegetation on the island of Tenerife: the juniper woodlands of Afur and Punta de Anaga. The analysis has been performed on two spatial scales: regional and local. The first shows the differences between the two locations, whereas the other scale illustrates the internal distinctions of each one. The local altitude and orientation differences determine floristic and physiognomic variations which are collected through field inventories. Afur contains the richest and most intricate juniper woodland patch with regard to its extension and diversity. The local analysis proves that contrasts in orientation can be more important than altitudinal climatic gradients.
