Drug Release from Lipogels According to Gelling Conditions and Mechanical Treatment

The release rate of a drug dissolved in the liquid phase of lipogels may be greatly affected by the type and concentration of gelling agent and by processing conditions and mechanical treatment of the ointment. These differences in release rate are reduced after application of mechanical stress comparable with the strain exerted on the ointment during application to the skin. Therefore, changes in the concentration of gelling agents used to achieve suitable consistency and manufacturing and packing processes that meet industrial and marketing requirements do not appear to exert a practical influence on drug availability after application to the skin.

ZusammenfassungUntersuchungen über die Bestimmung organischen Schwefels bei Anwesenheit von Phosphor wurden durchgeführt, um ein Verfahren auszuarbeiten, das die störenden Einflüsse der PhosphorsÄure oder deren Folgen bei der Titration nach Fritz-Yamamura ausschaltet. Die Bildung der PhosphorsÄure wurde je nach dem verwendeten Oxydationsverfahren und der Art des organischen Phosphor untersucht. Die Methode von Schöniger hat sich als die günstigste für Phosphinderivate erwiesen. Es ist aber die Subtraktion eines Blindwertes erforderlich, der von dem Phosphorgehalt der Probe abhÄngt. Für PhosphorsÄurederivate hat sich die Methode von Wagner als die einzig brauchbare erwiesen.SummaryInvestigations were conducted on the determination of organic sulfur in the presence of phosphorus, in order to work out a procedure that would not be vitiated by the disturbing influences of phosphoric acid or their effects in the titration after Fritz-Yamamura.
