Comparative analysis of the properties of composite mortar with addition of rubber powder from worn tires

This study compares the performance of two plastering mortars. The first one was produced at a 1:6 proportion of quicklime powder and sand (by volume) and ripened. The second had the same proportion but underwent a water withdrawal process in the oven. The mortars were given the same content of cement, making the proportion 1:1.5:9 (by volume), and the addition of rubber powder from worn tires at the proportions of 6%, 8%, 10% and 12% by aggregate volume. Axial compressive strength, flexural strength, deformation energy, void content, water absorption by capillarity, restrained shrinkage, and tensile bond strength were measured. The results showed that the second mortar, with rubber waste, performed better than the ripened mortar. With a reduction in the absorption of water by capillarity in the restrained shrinkage and in the void content, it maintained the tensile bond strength. The energy of deformation rose, although the compressive strength dropped.

AVALIAÇÃO DE ACESSIBILIDADE PARA PEDESTRES NA AVENIDA BRASIL QUANTO A PERCEPÇÃO DO USUÁRIO-MARINGÁ/PR

A maioria das pessoas convive, diariamente, com as precarias condicoes das calcadas em nossas cidades. Falta de seguranca, conforto e acessibilidade sao alguns dos problemas que mais prejudicam a circulacao de pedestres. Inicialmente apresenta-se uma sintese do referencial teorico sobre acessibilidade nas calcadas e as exigencias requeridas por lei e normas. Posteriormente apresentamos os resultados obtidos atraves de pesquisa de opiniao dos usuarios da via em estudo e finalmente os resultados alcancados com o estudo executado. A metodologia baseou-se em torno de um questionario de prospeccao, visitas in-loco e confrontamento com as exigencias impostas em leis e normas.

ANÁLISE GEOLÓGICA E GEOTÉCNICA DO CEMITÉRIO DO MUNICÍPIO DE MANDAGUARI, ESTADO DO PARANÁ

Partindo-se do pressuposto que o sepultamento de corpos e a sua subsequente decomposicao em cemiterios horizontais, pode potencialmente causar a contaminacao das aguas subterrâneas, o presente trabalho teve por objetivo a construcao de um laudo geologico para o cemiterio horizontal municipal de Mandaguari (Parana), analisando todas as caracteristicas geologicas da regiao onde se instala este empreendimento. Assim, a elaboracao deste laudo, ocorreu priorizando o cumprimento das Resolucoes 019/04 e 016/05 da Secretaria de Estado do Meio Ambiente e Recursos Hidricos - SEMA e a Resolucao 357/05 do Conselho Nacional do Meio Ambiente - CONAMA, a pedido do Instituto Ambiental do Parana - IAP.

ANÁLISE DA ARQUITETURA TUMULAR DO CEMITÉRIO JARDIM MUNICIPAL DE MARINGÁ, ESTADO DO PARANÁ

Partindo-se do pressuposto que o sepultamento de corpos e a sua subsequente decomposicao em cemiterios horizontais, pode potencialmente causar a contaminacao das aguas subterrâneas, o presente trabalho tem por objetivo analisar as caracteristicas estruturais dos tumulos e a arquitetura tumular do Cemiterio Jardim Municipal de Maringa, localizado no Estado do Parana, a partir da identificacao dos diversos modelos de arquitetura tumular ali presentes. Assim, a elaboracao deste artigo, ocorreu priorizando o cumprimento dos Decretos Municipal no 100/1984 e no 1475/2002, que aprovou o Regulamento do Cemiterio Jardim Municipal, alem de regulamentar o revestimento e reconstrucoes de sepulturas presentes no mesmo.

Os efeitos socioambientais causados pelos resíduos sólidos de confecção na cidade de Maringá

Este texto traz alguns apontamentos sobre a importância da sustentabilidade e os problemas causados pela industria da confeccao. Inicialmente discute-se a sustentabilidade, apresentado alguns dados referentes ao setor da confeccao na cidade de Maringa; Posteriormente discutem-se os problemas e as diretrizes relacionadas aos residuos solidos e a importância de se fazer uma gestao de forma correta, evitando impactos para a populacao e mesmo para o meio ambiente. Observa-se que e necessaria a integracao entre a populacao, o empresario e o poder publico para que as normativas municipais, estaduais e federais sejam cumpridas, assegurando melhor qualidade de vida e respeito ao ambiente.

CONFLICT BETWEEN PEDESTRIAN AND CICLOVIA: A AVENUE CASE STUDY IN MANDACARÚ MARINGÁ - PR

The main objective of this article is to analyze critical points about a bike path at Mandacaru avenue in the Maringa city, PR and also their conflicting aspects with pedestrian which includes the quality of infrastructure of the path offered to users, public urban space circulation - sidewalks and short paths. To acquire data for this article was done observations in local, photographies as well as quick talk with the pedestrian about the situation of the path. Thus, according to the data acquired was possible to have an ideia about the accessibility, signage, security, its users, lighting and others aspects. Note that to validate that study all the methods were applied in the specific neighborhood in the Maringa city, PR which the beginning is at Colombo avenue and ending at the Rotatoria das Torres - Torres avenue.

CHARACTERISTICS OF ENVIRONMENTAL RIBEIRÃO MORANGUEIRO VALLEY FUND IN MARINGÁ CITY - PR

Maringa city is such as national referee when the subjects mean green and urban landscaping, due to the developing process, which is regarded to harmonic integration in urban areas environmental issues. However, there are degradation problems in some preservation areas, which can be found at perimeter of the city and it should be analyzed and the issue can be solved, for instance, preventive actions which can be taken to avoid any damage. This study aims to characterize the valley bottom of RibeiraoMorangueiro, which is affected by human actions as well as identifying issues related to erosion process, rainwater drainage, waste water, solid wate disposal, vegetation cover and environmental situation. The research was done by observations in local, recorded with photographies and samples of waste water were collected. By the way, this local present environmental irregulations such as erosion process, improper disposal of solid waste by the population, invasive plant species like leucaena discontinuities in land cover and irregularities in the stream factors, other problems such as water contamination and soil degradation affecting the environmental balance and health of the surrounding population. Regarding to described above, it is evident the need for preventive measures that seek to revitalize the MorangueiroRibeirao, as well as contribute to the preservation of the present study area.

DISPOSIÇÃO INADEQUADA DE RESÍDUOS SÓLIDOS EM FUNDO DE VALE: O CASO DO CÓRREGO MANDACARU

A disposicao inadequada de residuos solidos urbanos em fundos de vale contribui para diversos impactos ambientais, como a contaminacao de corpos d’agua e solo, alem da poluicao visual. Este trabalho tem por objetivo discutir a problematica da disposicao inadequada dos residuos solidos urbanos nos fundos de vale e descrever o processo de limpeza destes residuos em um trecho do corrego Mandacaru, localizado no municipio de Maringa-PR. A metodologia adotada consistiu em visitar a area de estudo, identificar os pontos de disposicao inadequada de residuos, classificar os residuos, e coletar informacoes junto aos orgaos municipais. A analise dos resultados mostrou a predominância de residuos domiciliares e nao perigosos dispostos de forma inadequada em dois pontos no fundo de vale do corrego Mandacaru, bem como uma quantidade de 20,65 toneladas de residuos, sendo removidos e com disposicao final ambientalmente adequada pela prefeitura do municipio. Conclui-se a necessidade da aplicacao de forma mais rigida das leis ambientais vinculadas ao tema, especialmente as municipais. Ainda, a implantacao de um programa efetivo de educacao ambiental junto a populacao do municipio, visando melhorar a qualidade ambiental do corrego Mandacaru e seu fundo de vale, e a qualidade de vida da populacao que habita a regiao.

ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT SYSTEM AND ISO 14000 IN TEXTILE INDUSTRY - SUSTAINABILITY AS TREND

The Advent of the environmental Problem that arose at around the middle of the 20th century reflected in the posture of the organizations in relation to their productive process and their interaction with the Ecosystem. The demands of society and authorities for a sustainable development pressured organizations towards the utilization of better environmental practices that were socially just and economically viable. The answer for that was to integrate into the admistrative system of the organizations an Environmental management that would aggregate the value of their strategies and would satisfy the desires of all parties involved. The ISO 14000 follows international standards for the certification of an Environmental management System providing guidelines and methodology to help the organizations accomplish their responsibilities for a more sustainable planet. The textile industry is an example of pro-active attitudes and initiative in the face of the challenges in the search for a sustainable development of its segment as it tries to integrate in its productive line a cleaner process that is ecologically innovative.

KNOWLEDGE ANALYSIS OF CONSTRUCTION PROFESSIONALS ABOUT THE CIVIL CONSTRUCTION AND DEMOLITION WASTE IN THE CITY OF CAMPO MOURÃO – PR

Recycling and re-use terms are commonly discussed due to the it’s importance in the sustainability in civil constructions in situations such as reduction of environmental impact as well as cost reduction. The companies which works with recycling has been gaining more market share by selling goods from civil construction, however note that the ideia of sustainability must be intensified for this market. Thus, the main objective of this article is to show a example of a company and its works with waste civil construction recycling in Maringa-PR city as well as how this has been making the application of sustainable means for generation raw material for sales to regional companies or even for use in their own establishments.
